How does your game fit the theme?
I roll dice. It adds it up. I never got to implementing it but It was supposed to give power ups and strengthen the enemies depending on roll.

Cool concept idea!  I played the game a few times before reading the description text, so I went in without knowing what to expect.

Now, I'm going to tell you the story of my experience playing FPS with Dice - in hopes it inspires some more ideas as you continue development.

In the first room, after shooting the giant die and breaking it up into multiple dice,  I tried to go through the door, but it didn't seem to work, and thought, "Oh, I need to shoot the dice to roll them and make it add up to the number on the wall!"  I did that and tried to go through the door again, but it didn't work.  So I figured I must have missed something...

I refreshed the browser to try again, and this time I realized that I didn't need to shoot the dice I could go straight into the door.    Upon entering the second room, I quickly died. xD  So, I refreshed the page once more, this time doing much better and almost completing the second level.

Since I still hadn't read the description text, I wondered if the dice had changed the number of hit points the enemies had or how much damage they dealt.

Finally, I read the description text and see that your intention is to have the dice add player and enemy buffs and just haven't implemented it yet.  I'm delighted you submitted the game anyway! Done is better than perfect  :-)

All that to say, I had fun and see lots of opportunities to taking this idea further.

This does give me quite a few ideas. Like making the connection between the dice, score, and teleporter more obvious(or making connections between representations of a game mechanic more obvious), and, next time in a game jam, make it replayable as soon as possible.
I learned a lot this game jam.
And reviews like this help me figure out a lot, so I appreciate you taking the time to write this review.
Thank you for taking the time to write the review.

Seems not much was implemented which is a shame.  Good luck with your future projects.

Lots of effort has been put into it and I would have loved to see where you can take it from here. Nice job

Needs a bit of work but congrats on submitting your game!

Simple concept, but the shooting is kinda fun, well done for a solo project!

A little unfinished but a solid FPS game nonetheless!

Nice idea, it's a shame you didn't manage to implement the dice buffs nor more levels. Personally I didn't experience any framerate issues like other people seemed to.

Thanks for commenting.

I will update my game with more levels, dice buff, add shotguns and ar, and add a boss level.

Come check it out at that time!

Thank you for the validation.
Hopefully I can reuse the assets I created in this game for my next jam and/or find a team to work with next time.

A platform pushed me through the bottom of the floor and I fell forever.

Developer

lmao. I think you can move fast enough into a corner and push yourself out too.

The dice mechanic would have been interesting, it's a shame there wasn't enough time to impliment it. The movement and shooting feels good.

Developer

I'm glad the movement and shooting feels good.
I will definitely update the game later with the dice mechanic.
Thanks for playing my game.

Doesn't fit the game theme well, has framerate issues and it literally just looks like portal without a portal gun. The movement is nice, though.

Developer

Thanks for the feed back. In hindsight, having multiple scenes would have been better.
I'm glad the game enough aesthetic appeal to be similar to portal.

Shooting and moving feels nice. I don't understand what does shooting the dice does but killing robots was fun. Needs more time and polish but overall good job!

Thank you!
The decision to polishing gameplay (movement and shooting) vs creating core features was a difficult one.

Ultimately I don't know if I made the right choice on a limited time budget.

As for the dices...

Once the value of the dices add up. It was supposed to give a text that indicated if you got a buff and if the enemies got buffed. But In the end I never got to implementing it.

That's fine! It's a gamejam after all. It is almost impossible to make fully working game in such a time frame.
