Very cute game with great sound effects and music! The ending made me laugh, so thank you for that :)

Developer

thanks so much :)!

Submitted(+1)

Okay, I gotta say, that was more than just radish! :)

Glad I made it to the end cos the ending made me laugh.

Really impressive result (even more so for a 1st jam where even keeping within a manageable scope is a challenge) & making the different mediums you worked with fit into a cohesive whole.

Also cool to see your thoughtful comments & questions during the jam. :)

Rad!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! I was honestly worried no one would play long enough to even see the ending! Most of my projects have never been finished cause i get bogged down in scope creep, so my focus for this jam was getting practice in making a whole vision work within the time and scale that i could. Thanks again!

Submitted(+1)

Well, in that case, well done on getting the project finished & within achievable scope! :)

I can definitely identify with scope creep--both as a general thing & as a thing I may do to avoid "finishing" or releasing something...

This was so stinkin' good!! I love love love your artwork and all of the music and sfx were so fitting and very flavorful and really matched with the genre of the game! The fact that you created it all is to be highly commended! I loved the gameplay and I thought all of the little facts and blurbs were a lot of fun! Great game!!

Developer(+1)

awww thank you so much! that means a lot. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

This is honestly one of  the best games I've played so far. Loved the puzzles and the difficulty curve was good. The level intros were funny.

Developer

Thanks so much! Yours look great and it's on my list to try tonight when I get home!

Submitted(+1)

Really funny experience! Challenging puzzles, the random radish facts motivated me to keep going and also really cute animation at the end. I has a captivating graphics and color palette too. :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! I'm glad you have discovered the power of Radish Energy!

Submitted(+2)

Game is super cute, ending sequence is funny and rewarding.
The only thing is I may have been frustrated by the movement not be continuous but it was short enough to not be a problem in the end.

Good job! Now excuse me, I've got some radish facts to share with the rest of the world.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! The lack of continuous movement has been a common point of frustration for people so its the first thing I'll be updating when I expand this!

Radish fact: The radish was invented in 1982 by Jennifer Radish.

That was a funny little game, extremely cute!

Radish.

Radish.

(thanks! :)

Submitted(+2)

Did… did I just subscribe to radish facts?

Developer(+1)

Radishes are members of the Brassicaceae family, along with broccoli, cauliflower, and kale.

(thanks for playing!)

Submitted(+2)

Great little game, would love to see some more puzzles! Had to laugh at the end 😂

Developer(+1)

I would have loved to have time to make more puzzles. I'd love to do a polished up deluxe version with more content when I get a chance. Glad you liked the ending :)

Submitted(+1)

Cool concept, fitting the theme nicely! I like the visuals and the audio cues. Only the “radish” sound is a bit loud and saturated but maybe it’s the web version doing weird stuff.

I liked the game, my only complaint is that it can be a bit slow to move with this grid based movement, especially with such large levels.

Overall pretty solid! Congrats for your entry :)

Developer(+2)

Hi, thanks so much for playing! I would like to update the movement to allow for continuous movement through the grid. Someone else mentioned that as well. The radish sound is definitely mixed too high. Fun fact, its made with an emulation of the text-to-speech engine featured in the commodore 64. I hope I did not cause anyone ear damage.

Going to make radish tomorrow XD

Great job!

Submitted(+1)

Oh my goodness! This is so sweet. Love the little radish sounds! What a clever game design!! 🥰

Submitted(+1)

Ha that was really great. It was funny, cute, fun, and I think just the right level of difficulty. I really enjoyed it!

Submitted(+1)

I think I like radish now...

Anyway

Great job on your first game! The art style is gorgeous. This game embraces the true limitations of small-bit pixel art and its color palette. Gameplay-wise, it's very simple and fun. You introduced new mechanics quite well. That Japanese Man - Radish fact is also a really good cherry on top (of radish). I enjoyed the overall experience.

Oh, and. I absolutely love your ending. And the music too. Again, great job!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I am glad people are playing long enough to see the ending! Thanks again!

All I have to say is...

Radish

haha love the radish sound effect!! Nice way to introduce new concepts one at a time

Developer

radish!

also, thank you!

Submitted(+1)

I loved the humor.  I thought the sound effects were a bit much, but everything else came together well in this little puzzle.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I definitely agree, I think they are at best mixed a bit abrasively and if I had another day that would have been close by on my polish list.

Submitted(+2)

Cute game. It is really nice how you introduce new mechanics and how you combine them at the end.

That ending is really nice :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks! It is the first time I've ever done a cutscene in a game and the back-end of those particular scripts are so technically horrifying lol.

Submitted(+1)

cute, simple and effective, I was satisfied .

Developer

Thank you!

Submitted(+1)

Haha loved the texts before each level :)

Would’ve been nice if you could just hold a button and it would keep moving in that direction. But overall a solid 5 minutes of entertainment, as promised.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! That's a great idea for a future update!

Developer(+2)

Thank you to anyone who gives this a try. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and I hope it brings you at least a moment of entertainment!
