I really enjoyed the music and sounds, both ambient, mellow, and on point. I also enjoyed the graphics. Satisfying seeing the astronaut so happy. Well done!

Developer

Thanks, I’m glad you like it Densegoo 🤗

Thank you densegoo! I'm glad you enjoyed our work!

Deceptively difficult. xD

Really cool game, took me a while to actually finish it. :P

Developer(+1)

Thanks! 🤗 I’m happy we created some good puzzles 😁

Submitted(+1)

Wow some of the puzzles were not as easy as I thought initially. Really good concept... also the sounds are amazing, the overall look and feel is very relaxing yet challenging :)

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words Vojay! 🤗 I’m happy you like it!

Loved the puzzles, the transition and the astronaut. I wish you a bright day as well! :D

Developer

Hehe thanks! I really wanted to put in these space transitions like they did in the old Star Wars movies 😂

Submitted(+1)

I really like this sort of game, definitely pushes you to think about the solutions for the puzzles. Nice way of sticking to the theme!

Submitted(+1)

I've been playing this kind of puzzle game for a while now, and most of the time I get stuck in the second half.

But even I was able to clear it, and I love it!

Developer

Hehehe thanks for sharing, that made my day 🤗 I’m glad it was not too hard, was a little scared for that to be honest.

Submitted(+1)

I love the cheering up the space man theme! It is very fun and made me smile! It reminds me a bit of an old game I liked called Laser Chess! Great game! 💙

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much! Yeah come to think of it, I should try some Laser Chess 😁

Submitted(+1)

Really confused why the dude is so happy that I'm aiming a laser at him...

Great game though. Really enjoyed it!

Developer

You have to try it, it’s the best 😅 Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+2)

This game really brightened my day. Really cool concept and astronauts deserve happiness.

Developer(+1)

Yes, everyone deserves happiness 🤗 thanks for playing! 😁

Great puzzles! I liked the ambiance and the mechanic is simple and great! I believe you used raycasting for the light beam, is that right? Because if it is, I could really use some help. I tried to used in my game to create a bouncing aiming line as you did with the light (and like in Puzzle Bobble), but I couldn't figure it out. I'll be glad if you have some tips! Thanks for the game!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks Patrick! 🤗 You are right, the light is indeed calculated by raycasting from mirror to mirror. But it is a really hard problem to be honest and there are still edge cases in which the beam is calculated wrong 😅

But you van have a look at the source code if you want. I have to warn you it is jam code, so not the cleanest ever. But it does the job for now, although I’m convinced there must be a simpler and more elegant way of calculating reflections 😛

Submitted(+1)

That's really nice to share your code, thanks! Don't worry about the messy code, in the end of my jams I'm always adding new booleans and names or Id to the objects because i'm completely loss with the other features ;-)

Developer(+1)

No problem! I hope it helps you find a solution for your problem 😁 And yeah, it starts out clean and then you just start throwing things in there 😂

Nice atmosphere and clever puzzles, I really enjoyed going to the end. Good work!

Submitted(+1)

liked it a lot. Great feeling and well thought out puzzel.

i love the chill vibes of this. good music and atmosphere and a simple but effective graphical style. worst thing i have to say is it doesn't really seem to connect to the theme much imo. but its great as a game! it gets challenging but never anxiety inducing. you give us some tools and lots of possibilities, and then let us play around like a jigsaw puzzle until we piece it together. i'd love to play more if you expand it. great job!

Developer

Thank you so much for the great feedback Em 🤗 yeah a good puzzle is interesting without having tok many mechanics in my opinion, so we tried to go for that 😁

Good call on stating the number of levels, so when things started to get tough I knew how much I had to power through. Took me a good minute on the level where you had to
use the same mirror more than once
, though maybe that was just me. On a later level I only needed half the mirrors.

SFX, graphics, and music were all very cohesive in a way that complemented the mood of the game.

Developer

Yeah, I added the amount of levels so people know it is not too much. And that level was to induce a paradigm shift, so it was meant to be more challenging 😁 thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback! 🤗

Amazing work Sander!
I love the nice feeling everything had, the music the SFX and the VFX!
Such nice puzzles as well! I love how you had specific places that were seemingly random to force the players to think.

Amazing work!

Developer

Thank you so much Spoonsweet! Really appreciate it 😁

The random tiles are to throw people off 😏

Your level design is SO GOOD! The puzzles were fantastic, and I loved the like 30 degree pieces or whatever they were. I had an absolute blast.

Developer

Thank you so much Jasontherand, I appreciate it! 🤗 Yeah, the 22.5 degree mirrors make this nice angle that guides the beam diagonally through a grid cell, just makes everything so much more interesting 😁

Submitted(+1)

This is really fun! I like the puzzles. Can you share the source? Im curious how you made the beams work so well.

Submitted(+1)

Also the Astronaut is cute. The one small improvement idea I have is to allow the player to swap the mirrors. Other than that, create a few more levels and its a full game for mobile, no one could tell its a jam game. The large tiles would work well no mobile too.

Developer

That is a good idea! Yeah, you can already play on mobile, just have to go to Itch 😉

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much 🤗 The beam is a bit finicky, there are some edge cases that go wrong 😅 But here is the source code, the code for the beam is over here.

Submitted(+1)

I had a great time with this game. Love the clean look and the cute design. Was actually a bit sad that it was over so soon :D

Developer

Hehehe I’m sorry for not making enough levels 😅 Thanks for the kind words Fenchel 🤗

Submitted(+1)

It was hard for me to complete it, but i did it. I liked this game

Developer

Well done! Yeah the later levels are pretty hard 😅 Thanks for checking it out!

Submitted(+1)

Simple and effective. It feels nice and responsive. The 45 degrees mirror is such a nice detail!

Developer

For a puzzle less is more in my opinion 😁 Thanks for the kind words Valentino!
