A cool infinite runner with some neat (procedurally generated?) levels. Great artwork aswell!

An interesting take on the theme :D! Liked how it was progressing through the ages :).

Its a shame I got stuck behind a block-air-block (vertically) spot, jump was too high to squeeze through XD.

Damn this was cool. It was a very gradrular journey through many different and nice art styles and bangin songs. Each stage was just long enough and every new evolution of the art assets were spot on. Unfortunatly i got stuck in a block on my first playthrough. But that is a minor issue that probably would be ironed out with some more testing. Very nice entry.

Submitted

Not a bad game, but I had an issue with navigation with UI. It was really hard to understand how to go back :D Because when clicking esc it just turns off my fullscreen mode

Nice and engaging game, good job! Really wanted to see what evolution was next and I wasn't disappointed.

Developer

Thanks so much for the kind words! :D

Very good use of tools for sopme very nice looking character and assests.

Too bad i got soft locked. Couldn't get pass a small hole between two tiles. The tile generation definitely needs some fixes

Developer

Yeah I had a friend get soft blocked too at that same spot! When I play tested I just dashed through that spot and didn't give it a second thought that someone might not have the mushrooms for that (when I should've just removed the tile). Definitely need a more forgiving tilemap for that level... Thanks for the feedback!

I couldn't find the soup mechanic. 🥵

Developer

Hah folks did kinda make it seem like a separate mechanic, eh? Just the end-game screen (though a soup animation end-game screen was a stretch goal I did not achieve lol). Hope you enjoyed anyway!

Nice to play a forgiving platformer for a change.  Great work!

Developer

Thanks so much! Lots of brutal precision platformers in jams, I thought a chance to enjoy some cute music and scrolling backgrounds would be refreshing :D Thanks so much for playing!

I made soup!

Pretty good game all around!

Developer(+1)

We love soup! Thanks a lot for playing :D

Submitted(+1)

This was fun! I think it was just the right level of difficulty, and I really liked seeing the environments change, especially the character model and the background. The music was also very nice! :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much! Not quite the same level environment change as your game, but certainly what I going for with my limited experience! And I'm sure the musician will be thrilled with your feedback :D Thanks for playing!

Mmmmmmm soup

Developer(+1)

I hope you collected many wonderful plants for your yummy soup!

Very impressive evolution! The amount and quality of the art is astounding. I would have loved a plant counter and a countdown to the end of the level, but they were not super important. You made essentially 4 great games, so nice job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I opted to put the plant counter and timer at the end but in hindsight a little tracker during the game would have been good too.  I would've loved to tie the ingredients into something besides counting, but those layers took a minute to make :D Thanks so much for playing!

Nice take on the evolution theme !

It was so cool seing the progression of graphics and music from classic 8 bit monochrome to full on smooth pre rendered sprites with more Hd music. The fact that you took the time to render and cleanup all these different frames for those different styles to convey the evolution is just Insane !

So i can only applaude :o

Gameplay wise everything works fine, it's a nice autoscroll platformer. My only gripe is that it was a bit confusing at first to guess what was a powerup and what was an obstacle that would hurt you especially on the first segment.

But other than that it was fun to play through till the end, well done :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for the kind words! :D

I know, I was thinking on how the 2 color environment was bad for tutorialization!  I thought about putting a little explainer in but figured folks would figure it out and hopefully not rage quit before getting to the clearer parts, ha. I appreciate the playthrough and feedback very much!

No problem just sharing my thoughts in hopes thet it's helpful :)

well the first environement could have things a bit more clear by maybe have just a few different colors instead of monochrome, like a really small 4 color palette or something like a Spectrum game, but overall i think it's still managable to understand while playing so no worries.

evolution pretty much nailed down :-)

I was a little confused at first about what was going on. I didn't have much fun playing this game but the art looks nice.

Submitted(+1)

I had fun playing this. I love this art style and the music really enhanced the game play.

Developer

Thanks very much! Was more of an art project than a "show off Godot's features as an engine" project so I appreciate the shout out there :D
