Interesting game! Was there a way to rotate the "swap" boxes or is it always just horizontal? I didn't see anything regarding it being able to rotate, but it's possible that I missed it. If not, I think that would be my main suggestion.
Overall it was pretty interesting, and I think you did pretty darn good for going solo Urodela, solid effort! ^^
thanks for playing!
Yeah, just horizontal switching. Perhaps it would be more fun with the option of vertical switching!
Fun game :)
I liked the story and the mechanic a lot !
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Hey,
nice little game you made, really like it. played and rated.
please feel free to play and rate my game:
Had a lot of fun playing the game. Having each stage have a different effect made it feel different with the same game mechanic. The story was a nice addition. The portrait and dialogues of the characters suited the art style of the game.
I really enjoyed the game.
Thank you for playing! I'm glad you had fun.
Honestly was not expected to face such interesting game idea. It's so fresh. Graphics is perfect and story is well designed.
Thanks drxwat. I'm glad you thought it was fresh. Thanks for playing!
I really enjoyed how you put efforts on telling the story. The mechanics are interesting.
The graphics are alright, I mostly liked the animated portraits.
Good work! :)
Thanks! Making animated portraits is NOT trivial, I have 10x more respect for the pixel artists out there.
Cool game, I played through the whole thing. Nice idea to bump the tiles up with more of them to get a faster score...the art and animations were good and the music / sound effects fit very well.
Wow, thanks for playing through the entire thing. It was the first time I did the code, music, art, and story. I appreciate you taking the time to experience all of it.
I really like this concept! The animated character portraits are really charming. Being able to spawn in more blocks yourself is also a neat touch as it definitely helps speed up the levels. Overall, really enjoyable
Thanks for playing PlasticPolychaete!
Fun game! I like how each character changes the gameplay. The introduction was cool - telling the story in an interactive way. Beyond that, I wasn't really able to follow the story at the same time as focusing on the game. It's a great concept though. I wonder whether having the story in between levels would work better?
Overall I really liked the way you presented the game. Good job :)
Yeah, I totally get this - The story is like thrown out the window once the puzzle starts. Story in between levels would work, I think!
This is a really interesting take on a classic mechanic!
I really liked the graphics and the small touches like having to actually type the URL in at the start. My only complaint is that I couldn't read any of the story because I was too focused on moving blocks. I'd end up seeing the first couple sentences then the last sentence. It would be cool if we could go back and re-read them after the level is complete. :)
That's a really great idea. The story is available at the end of each level, but I'm not sure the player stops to read it. I'll definitely consider doing this! Thanks!
The game is a little bit bugged(the green block >:( ). Plus, the levels are too long -_- (especially since I didn't find any score?). But the characters graphisms are original, and the explosion animation has a good feeling.
good feedback! I tried to make it so that the story continues when making more chains, but it’s a bit difficult admittedly.
@Bangel - I made a few edits with your feedback, since we had time before the jam ends. There were a few bugs after I exported within debug mode. Anyways, thanks and enjoy!
