The art of the game looks good. The retro music and the color palette seemed to mix well. It was funny how the creatures would offer a hear when they caught you.

I was not sure what I had to do other than jumping. Those big creatures did not seem to interact when jumping near them. A checkpoint would be nice as I kept going to the beginning.

Submitted

Love the artwork! Was a little unclear what I was supposed to be interacting with though. Thought I had to push the blocks onto the switches until I figured out I could interact with the switches.

This was pretty good and funny, especially when one of the monsters gets you. I just wish there was a reset button so I didn't have to re-run the game when I get caught.

Developer

Haha, that is what I wish as well!

I'm currently trying to learn how to make a checkpoint system, so that would be avoided in the future :D

Thanks for playing!

I really like the rabbit animations. The "interact" animation is a lot of fun.

I don't know if I'm missing some part of the game. Is there some interaction possible with the enemies aside from being sent back to the beginning?

I did get to the end within a rather short amount of time. I think this is because I made the game fullscreen--I didn't realize that this probably made it too easy to see where to go.

I like that the player losing animation is the enemy giving you flowers. It's very charming. The overall atmosphere of the game is pretty interesting--I can't say I'm very familiar with Alice in Wonderland, but I do find the atmosphere pretty compelling here.

Developer(+1)

Haha! Tou are right, it was too easy to get through the level... I didn't spent enough time playtesting...

I was aiming for a fullscreen experience. You are correct, that is the only interaction with monsters you might have. I wrote that as a hint so people will approach the final dude and get to the winning page.

I am a bit surprised about you not having heard of Alice in wonderland. Maybe you know it by a different name? It is a very famous weird, fascinating and therefore inspirational Book. It has shaped and is referenced by many works of fantasy and fiction, as well as popular culture.

Submitted(+1)

Oh, I mean I've definitely heard of Alice in Wonderland--I know I've seen at least one play, I think I've read the book too. I just don't remember much about it.

I LOVE your style. Beautiful art and music and overall atmosphere. The getting caught pictures were so cuute! I couldn't figure out how to leave the labrynth though.

Developer

Really happy you enjoyed it!

If you want to give it another go, find the fingersnaping gryphon. (more specifically, his fingers).

PS: I just realised its easy to just cruise through the enemies, press on one switch and be done without visiting half the level :(

thats lack of playtesting and bad level design for you!

What a lovely game! I loved the esthetic: the bouncy animations and the electronic music. It all fits so well together.

And I laughed so hard at the ha-ha moment when you get caught x)

Super cool game! Congrats <3

Developer

Thank you so much!

I am facing a bug when the jumping animation when SPACE is pressed doesn't show in full-screen mode.

Thank you for playing!

Thank you so much for giving it a go!

Apologies for that, the basic idea was to try and explore (I know, its not much and I made no effort towards making that clear :D ).

If you want to give it another go, find the fingersnaping gryphon.

The artwork and ambience in this game is awesome! The monsters are pretty menacing looking and I really enjoyed finding all the random weird characters through the labyrinth. It kind of reminds me of a Tim Burton movie. The bad guys giving you flowers rather than attacking you is also somehow more menacing than if that just straight up ate you lol. Very well done!

Developer

Haha! Thank you for the kind words!

I wanted to include as much of Alice in Wonderland vibes as I could!

I really like the character designs and the sprites!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for dropping by!

I am super envious of your work, so slick and expressive! Do you have any tips/tutorials/inspiration to share?

Submitted

Hahaha I'm happy to hear that! Well, unfortunately the only tip I have is: keep making stuff! Jams are great for that since you can try so many different ideas without having to commit to a bigger project.

Really like the sprite work  and character design and the minimalist color scheme give it an interesting mood especially combined with the music.

Camera maybe zoomed a bit too close so it ca be a bit hard to navigate, but really small issue.

Had fun roaming the strange labyrinth and reaching the end :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Glad you liked it! Here is the palette: https://lospec.com/palette-list/inkpink

Try playing in full screen! My understanding of cameras and exporting to HTML5 is still minimal :D

Submitted(+1)

Yeah lospec is a really useful site for palettes, no problems cameras have some quirks in godot, and i couldn't blame for the export thing cause i remember my first jam where i couldn't figure out how HTML builds worked untill i stumbled on some tutorial XD

Really nice graphics. Fun game. Even after finishing, I didn't want to stop because of the music!

Developer

Thank you for playing and really glad you enjoyed it! Here is the music by Hart called Digital Core!

Now you can listen constantly!

first off your game..is so beautiful! man like the color choice, to the design of the game, to the character design and color...so beautiful,  the negative thing i have to say about your game is no Tutorial...like i spend most of the time wondering what i needed to do, maybe you could of written what you needed to do on the game page, i did see that you put  space bar to interact, but that's it.  otherwise beautiful game you made, love the color choice cute enemy designs

also let me know if you ever figure out  how to do checkpoints cause i was wanting to do that for my game as well and i got stumped, or hey, if i ever figure it out i'll let you know! ill follow you on itch, just in case

Developer(+1)

thank you for playing and leaving such an insightful comment!

You are correct, I should have some instructions somewhere. While I do like playing games where the player has to experiment, I understand that playing many games in a Jam doesn't allow much time for exploring and trying things out, where you can just give the next game a try.

I will definitely keep searching for checkpoints! I'll let you know once I find something!

Developer

Hey! I've figured checkpoints out! I will aim to make a Youtube video as soon as possible, and I will share it with you!

Developer(+1)

Hello!I figured it out and made this! Hope it helps!
