Some indicators, regarding what mechanic influences the H20 and O2 in which way, would have been nice. But I like that you integrated the stats into the environment, instead of using a standard ui.

Cool submission! :)

It’s a pretty good idea, and I like having two phases, in the ship and on foot.

I found that the navigation was a bit hard, and was wondering where I had to go a few times.

Really enjoyed the concept, but got confused and at times stuck.

Maybe add some explanations at the start to say what to do etc...

In the spaceship part, i felt like i wasnt moving lol, there were no asteroids coming at me and it seemed like i was just staying in one place.

Hey thank you for your feedback :)

Many have complained about the lack of tutorial, will definitely pay more attention to this in the future.

In general, I really liked the idea of this game. Managing your ship resources and going out to collect resources. But there were a number of things that made the game very difficult to enjoy…

  • All of the resource indicators are on the pods of either side of the ship. In theory, this is a really cool idea, however the ground character moves so slow that it takes me forever to get from the indicator on the right to the ones on the left and vice versa. Their colors are also such that they blend in a bit too much with the ship graphics and are hard to make out.
  • Planting the carrots is nice and simple, however you’re always planting above where the player icon is, instead of where the player is facing. This was simple enough to figure out, but it’s very counter intuitive to what I would expect.
  • When flying around to collect water, I didn’t realize the smaller asteroids could harm my shuttle and I died. A small damage indicator would be nice.
  • Also while flying the shuttle, there’s nothing, really, in the environment to indicate where or even if I’m moving when I get far enough away from the ship. This could get really frustrating if a player gets lost.
  • There was a point when I did return to the ship and as I slowly walked to plant a carrot, the game just says I died. I have no idea why. I probably ran out of a resource, but as I have difficulty seeing all of the resource meters, I have no idea.

Like I said, over all, I really like the idea of this game, but there were just a lot of things about the controls and the interface that I felt I was fighting just to figure out and it took me out of the game all together.

Hey Obsidian, I really appreciate the feedback. I feel like things  can be improved, specially the points you have mentioned. Will definitely pay more attention to ease of use and visibility of resources in future jams (if their involved).

Hey not bad for your first time! It was a bit hard to know what to do. Some small explanation would have improved surely. And also some music and sounds, but you probably know that.

Nice anyways!

Hey we ran out of time to add sounds and a little tutorial. Thanks suggestion though, will definitely try to get more in next jam!
