You did great in introducing urgency to the gameplay, I felt I had to rush everything. Luckily I was destroying two panels at a time when I stood in the middle. Would have liked if the guards reacted if they saw you near a destroyed panel. Great jam entry!

thanks for playing!

Yeah I agree the guards could be more interesting in many ways, I like your suggestion!

This was lots of fun to play and had a creative aesthetic. Breaking two panels at once helped me progress through levels, and felt like a nice reward for precise character positioning. Well done!

First of all the music slaps, and a very unique take on the theme. The game feels pretty good to play and it was a fun little stealth mission. If you figure out about the double destruction it becomes pretty easy, I did like discovering that glitch though it made me feel like a speedrunner lol.

Given the time restrictions it's solid, but to give some ideas for extra difficulty maybe you could make guards always detect you, just with a larger range when you're hammering. Then to compensate, add some hiding nooks and more maze-like levels.

Glad you enjoyed it and I think your ideas are a great fit for the game.

The game was nice, and the pixelart charming. My only problem is the guards' AI. Sometimes on the last level I had to wait for all 4 guards to pass before I could work on the panels, and that took a lot of unnecessary time.

Developer

thanks for playing!

I agree on the guards... Not a lot of thought has gone into it because of time in the end. I feel it's ok... But it definitely needs adjusting

I like the rock music.

I found a way to destroy two pieces at the same time and cleared the stage. That was fun!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Yeah the double destruction was not intentional at first, but I left it in because I liked it. You even kind of need it in the last two levels.

Fun premise and the music was a jam! Nice work!

Simple but really enjoyable experience, with a bit more work on the artwork, especially the background, it'd be way better! Nice job.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Yeah I agree about the artwork.

I enjoyed it but kind of wished that the difficulty ramped up quicker.  I am not sure if it was intended but you can sandwich yourself between two panels and fix them both at the same time.  My only big complaint is that the E button is too close to the R button, and I restarted the game by mistake.

Developer

thanks for playing!

Yeah the sandwiching was not intended at first but I liked it so I kept it in.

Hmm I never restarted by accident but I can see it happening, will keep that in mind. I had planned an options screen where you could remap your input keys but didn't have the time in the end.

Submitted

Nice game.  My only complaint is that I wish the arrow keys were mapped as well as the normal asdw keys.  (I know those keys are standard for most of these type of games, but it's nice when both are mapped.)

Developer

thanks for playing!

Yeah I agree... I had an extra menu item "options" where I would let you map keys... But time got the better of me.

Completely understand.

Works as intended and the dificulty curve is smooth. Congrats!

OK, I see what you did there! Nice theme interpretation!

Very creative play on words :D

Edit: there is a small glitch if u stand in between solar panels u can destroy two at the same time . Lets say I cheated :"

Submitted

shush! I used that glitch to cheat!

Developer

Haha I found that quite early on during play testing and I left it in (you kind of need it in the last 2 levels :D

Thanks for playing!

Nice simple game - I enjoyed being the decapitated floating head of a futuristic solar punk!

I enjoyed smashing the stuff up - the guards caught me a couple of times but fun!

I did get stuck watching a guard in level 1 by accident and thought I'd broken the game but then the mechanic was explained to me later on. I think it'd be worth trying a couple different mechanics or level layouts if you were to develop this further - maybe you have to turn off the power to the panels first, then smash?

PUNK SMASH! *does best incredible hulk impression*

Developer

Thanks for playing!

I like the idea of a PUNK SMASH :D
