Cool runner and I like the graphics, they are really charming. Unfortunately, sometimes the spawn of obstacles makes it impossible to pass without damage(

Really loved the art and the music. Also really enjoyed the clever take on the theme. As others mentioned, I also found getting over two fences next to each other impossible without taking damage. I think my high score was 38. :)

Nice job!

Thanks! As I said elsewhere, the first two fences together are jumpable, but it's more of a crapshoot after that I'm afraid!

nice game! I'm not sure if it's possible to jump over two fences in a row though

Developer

The two fences next to each other at the start are definitely jumpable - the first set of fences are hand placed and all avoidable. Later on you're in the hands of RNG, so yeah you might get unavoidable gates, sorry! I was on holiday for most of the 2nd week and didn't have much time to polish this one, unfortunately!

Great take on the theme, nice art style, and I really feel bad for the horse whenever I fail. Other people have already mentioned the controls, but I just want to add that the fence sometimes blends a bit too well with the background objects like houses. I would suggest maybe dropping the saturation and increasing the brightness of these background objects so that the important gameplay elements would stand out more.

Developer

And right you are to feel bad, your bad jumping is gonna turn him into glue! :P

Jokes aside, I totally get what you mean about the fences not being clear enough at times. I was gonna fix that, but someone said they liked it as it increases the difficulty, so I left it as is. Always get a second opinion is the lesson here!

Very tough but fun! Are there some spacings of platforms that are just impossible to pass? That's how it felt for me. Nice take on the theme.

Developer

Thanks, glad you thought it was fun! And yeah, probably sometimes there are jumps that are impossible, sorry! This was actually my first idea I when I saw the theme, but thought it was too gimmicky, so built A Spaceship Called Stability instead. I only built this (in the space of about 2 days) once the deadline was extended. I was on holiday for most of the second week so didn't have much time to polish it!

Only thing is that you had to time the jump in order to get over platforms.

Amazing pixel art and music! I would love to see a wider variety of obstacles drawn in this style too!

Very pretty pixelart and music. I would adjust the jump to be a bit easier (slower) though.

Nice job! Lots of fun!

Thanks!

I like this take on "unstable", I found the jump to be incredibly difficult to time however.

Developer

Thanks! This was the first thing I thought of when I saw the theme, but dismissed it as I thought corny puns wouldn't go down well! It was only when the jam was extended I quickly built this game as well.

I like the pixel art, and the music fits pretty well too. I feel like it gets way too fast, way to quick, and the jump curve could be a bit more forgiving, right now it's way too quick and steep. I think if you want to make it go this fast, it should get to this speed much later, and the speed should affect the movement of the background a lot less. That way the speed could increase, but it would be a lot less nausiating.

very slick pixelart right there. Regarding gameplay it feels like as the horse gets faster it gets easier to jump over fenses, until it gets harder again
