After my hectic week at work and crazy evening with my kids I actually enjoyed that this game had no sound!

The graphics were a nice simple balance too. And I was happier than I expected to just be asked to stack some things up in a heap.

I think I like to play calm games in my stage of life!

Developer

Thank you for having played the game. Honestly, I didn't think about that aspect of my game at all. Thanks for having pointed that out for me.

A stacking game! Very nice! The only thing that it needs is some objectives and sounds. Then it would be perfect!

Developer

Thank you for having played the game. Yeah, an objective of sorts is definitely the thing I will add after jam.

Submitted

Pretty funny. It saddens me a little that student life is associated with such things, but it's undeniable that it's unstable

Developer

Haha =D, sorry to have made you sad. I mean I did exagerate things a bit, but yeah, some parts are not too far imo.

Submitted

Fun game, I like that! I'd maybe add randomizing the object instead of manually picking it, and sounds would polish that game a lot.

Developer

Thank youfor having played the game! I will definitely try to implement random after this jam!

230 beer, am I doing college right?

Developer

Well I mean that would perfectly reresent some of the students in my uni, and they're doing pretty good. So....you're doing great!

Fun idea, and well implemented. I had the same bug/feature(?) as texnoforge where I could just spam the create button near the line and get it to increase arbitrarily. Other than that it's a simple and clean game, nice work. With some objectives/levels I would have played longer!

Developer

Thank you for having played the game and telling me about the bug! The game could definitely had used some levels or objectives.

Submitted

Heh, brings back memories.

You can raise the bar by putting items under it without them being stacked or stable :)

1 doesn’t select beer for me 🍺

When I spammed things it came to crawl pretty quickly… You should probably ensure balance before placing more items.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for having played the game and told me about the bug! Yeah, I should have prioritized fixing the line bug :<.

A good idea considering the theme and fun to play with! I do think that being given objects to stack instead of picking them would have probably made for a more interesting gameplay experience. The obvious option seems to be to just stack beer bottles to infinity (and beyond) haha. I don't know if it's just me but the performance was exceptionally poor, especially when holding an unplaced object it seemed. I had a rough time controlling the camera because of that as well and I would very much have liked to see scrolling by clicking and dragging.

My personal record was 235m of beer bottles. :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you for having played the game and endured the poor frame rates =D. You are definitely riht, the others have told me about being given objects to place instead to, I'll try that later on.

Personally I didn't have any problem when it comes to the performance but I'll definitely see where I went wrong. Again, thank you!

Looks really nice. I made a giant column of beers and was happy with it :).

I think it would be great after the jam if you to added an “objective” mode with a time limit and a certain height as a target and kept the current one as a sandbox mode.

Congrats on submitting!

Developer

Thanks for having played and commenting! That's what I intended to do as well, but it turns out I was overscoping for myself :<. I'll ty to do better next time though.

Thank you for your suggestion.

"... and get as high as you can". Oh, college life.

This was a cute little game. I agree with Kikopu that it lacks an objective. I also played expecting the object I'm stacking to change on its own at some point, then realized I had control. The limit then became how many physics object would my browser handle before the experience got too choppy.

Definitely see some potential in this. Good work submitting to the game jam!

Developer

=D Thank you, yes. Thi game is literally part of what I've experienced going into univresity.

It definitely does lack an objective, it was supposed to have a time limit instead. I suppose I should have left that in.

Also thank you for having told me about the items, I should have included a UI to show the currently selected item or made it clearer.

Thank you for your time! Though can I ask, how many objects did you get before it got choppy =D?

Submitted

It was in the hundreds, so I was impressed that it made it that far. Once it started to topple, the frame rate had a noticeable drop.

Developer

Thanks for letting meknow! The reason why it could go so well probably was bc of the fact that the items literally are just default rigidbodies2D with 2.0 gravity and score counting so they didn't do much anyway.

Submitted

The concept works, but the game lacks objectives, as getting higher and higher is possible by just stacking the same object over and over again ; but it could become a good puzzle game with designed levels which only give you a straight set of items to reach a certain height !

Congrats on your submission !

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing and commenting Kikopu! At the start I was intending for the game to have a time limit and special events happening along the way, but that go too much for me instead.

Thank you for your kind comment though! It does feel good to finally get a project done after 2 months.
