Game Description
A retired army vet languishes his days on a farm, but the ghost of his past forgets not the horrors he took part in.
How does your game tie into the theme?
This story-driven horror takes place in the autumn and reflects how the season mimics the decay of the protagonist's life (... and the main game loop is to *harvest* pumpkins ;) ).

Great job on creating an immersive atmosphere and story!
The voice acting was very well done, and the level was designed quite nicely. I noticed that moving left and right tilts you as well, which I thought was a clever way of adding realism. The flickering when full sprinting was quite intense, and that could've been intentional so I only channeled it to about 1/4th, but the first time you end up doing it you have to look away.
It was a bit boring, for me, but regardless I loved the entry.
Appreciate you fitting in our interactive story in the final hours of the jam, Sevadusk, and grateful for your feedback. Good luck in the jam results in a couple of hours! :)
It was surprisingly atmospheric. Very solid voice acting too. It could have done without the flicker effect when sprinting, as the stamina bar already puts a limit on that. I think the boogeyman ending was a bit out of nowhere, as the horror until then was mostly grounded (like the loooooong list of medication so nonchalantly recited).
Indeed things to refine now that we have time. Thank you for checking out the game in the final stretch of the jam!
Great game folks! Especially for a jam, I can't believe the quality of your output.
Seriously great storytelling through audio (my favorite aspect by far).
Means a lot coming from you, José—especially after having a blast playing your team's polished entry earlier!
Nice 3D game for such short period of time! I was not found of the blinking effect but everything else was perfect! Well done!
Indeed; experimental feature to disincentivize the overuse of sprinting, but required a bit more time to get right. Wonderful to hear the rest of the interactive story hit its mark with you!
First of all, great job! As others have mentioned, the voice acting is excellent, and the sound works really well. The musics fit perfectly.
In terms of gameplay, I find it a bit repetitive for my taste, but I'm not sure what alternative features could have been used.
It seems like you might have an issue with back-face culling on the hay bales. If you created them in Blender, there's an option to fix it called "Recalculate outside".
Nice Entry!
Ah, thanks for the Blender tip! With the benefit of more time, we're now discussing ways to variate the core game loop, though have resolved that the game does need to be a walking simulator of a sort in order for the narrative to be delivered and processed by the player as intended, while keeping the gametime jam-appropriate.
Thank you for sampling our game!
Yeahhh the hay bale thing was an artifact only on the web build, I think it was some shader issues. Thanks for playing!
nice graphics, nice audio, nice voice acting, a bit boring gameplay (for my taste), nice polish, nice intro/ui stuff, no control issues, no accessibility issues, quite original and interesting narrative. Glad to see another well made entry!
Haha, thanks Xandruher. Nice and concise as always! :D
I am working on my comment skills. Maybe one day I reach your level :D
You'd need to set aside an hour for each comment, LOL.
The narrative was interesting. Though am not sure if I got to go through it all or not, for while a voicemail was playing and I was dashing to the field I sort of just fell right into the boogeyman.
Very atmospheric and definitely does a great job and getting you immersed (even though the game loop itself was rather boring. Am not a big fun of walking simulators, and seriously this guy could use a Cart or something to load his Pumpkins instead of picking them up one by one. But~ I suppose it's a mandatory element for horror stories for their protagonists to be stupid)
Great work and amazing voice acting!
Indeed, the game is meant to end abruptly matching the unexpectedness of life / death, so we were very curious if that would resonate with players. Agreed with your excellent criticism; to realize the scale of the rest of the intended experience, we planned to keep the basic game loop simple, and potentially expand on it if we had any time left over at the end, but of course, ran up against the deadline (we also had a wheelbarrow submitted as we were preparing exports an hour before deadline, haha; the lovely last-hour chaos of Godot Wild Jam!).
Was very nice to hear the atmosphere came off as immersive as we'd hoped. Very much a credit to our environmental designer, sound designer, and voiceover artists who'll be happy to hear these comments. Thank you for this helpful review!
Wonderful atmosphere. I got so immersed that I didn't notice music changing at some point, and I didn't expect the story to go in the direction it did. Definitely felt frightened at the end.
I'm glad I didn't look at the screenshots, as there are some spoilers to the story there.
Immersion is a huge desire for games like this, and just as much, eliciting the emotion of fear, so I danced a jig after reading your experience. That's a valid point also; we had to throw in a horror hook in the screenshots to attract players (a good portion of visitors are coming in from Itch's free horror section in addition to Godot Wild Jam; we received a couple of video reviews on the Itch game page as a result). Thank you for playing / reviewing!
Definitely a good idea to show the most exciting parts in the screenshots / trailer. I'm just the kind of person that prefers to go in without knowing anything, both with games and movies :)
Cheers!
I was not expecting to be playing something like this today and it was a very pleasant surprise, feels quite polished and I really enjoyed the writing, the voice acting is a great addition too. The visuals and music of the slow progression of the day as the pumpkins were harvested really enhanced the simplicity of the gameplay, congrats on a great submission!
It's always satiating to hear that a player finished with a higher regard for the game than coming in. Your wonderful comments are music to our ears; thank you for playing and leaving this affirming review!
Wow amazing story in only a week? That's actually crazy the voice acting incredible, the art amazing, the work you put into this story and the game is shown in the best way possible incredible game!
Hoping to read words like these were why we were so inspired to make the effort. Thank you for the glowing comments—they mean more than you know. :)
The story behind this game is phenomenal, with voice acting and an amazing atmosphere great job guys :)
An ensemble of highly talented and motivated teammates made this vision possible. Am very happy to hear the interactive experience connected with you! :)
thank you - happy to hear you enjoyed it and it resonated with you!
Can’t believe this is a week’s work! This is a very meaningful story and the gameplay is also very classic
A very eventful week it was, haha. Thank you for the kind words, Doc!
Wow, that was an amazing game cannot believe this was put together in a week. Graphics and audio (especially the voice work) were great. The story was very depressing but really made the game. Only complaint I had was it got so dark it was really hard to continue harvesting the pumpkins... not sure you needed to though.
Lastly, I want to know where she got her car repairs that are cheaper than paying for gas :)
Great submission keep them coming.
Glad you enjoyed, Anonymyst. Can't wait to check out Chapter 5!
(Oh, and the last time a car dealership quoted me a price for a quick-fix, I almost passed out next to the coffee machine!)
Very high quality! Love the voice acting.
Brave choice making a walking simulator for attention-challenged game jam players.
Great story. Very impressive!
Appreciate your affirming feedback! Story-based 3D games with limited dev time usually have one direction to go, so it's redeeming to hear our intended experience resounded well. :)
Super cool!
Thanks for being our first look!
