I LOVE the dude with the camera in the rhythm mini game! Kudos to whoever painted that. 😂 Also, playing as a 2D character in a 3D works surprisingly well and makes the game stand out visually. For the rhythm game I think the score label should have been closer to the actual inputs, though. I found it hard to keep track of how I was doing while looking out for the incoming notes.

You made an amazing game! It stands out among many others. I enjoyed playing it and broke everything I could in the office. The problem was that the popup with the minigame information was closing itself in a split second, leaving me zero chance to understand what to do. I tried to occupy the red keys, thinking this was the goal. Nevertheless, a great game with a strong theme and strong music that helps you feel the importance of your mission.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! Usually the mission briefing stays until you press a button, maybe you accidentally clicked it away. The actual idea here is to avoid the red keys, so that probably did not work in your favor ;)

Hm… I’m not sure I clicked something ‘accidentally’ three times ;) as all briefings vanished in a second.

Wow, a team of 7 people on their 4th jam!? This demands a higher standard than usual!

Unfortunately, it's a standard that cannot be met. The 2D art doesn't play that nice with the 3D overworld, and the move speed in the 3D overworld is a strain. It could have done with an extra control to allow for faster travel in one mode as well as the precise movement required in the jumping.

The minigames do have their own charm, for sure, but it may be the most representative of the problem with having a large team. Each of these feel like their own separate projects connected loosely together.

This is a team that faces a unique challenge. Your journey must not end here, come back in December!

Developer

Hey and thanks for your review!
In terms of movement speed, you can press Shift to move faster in the 3D world, not sure if you saw that.
Also, just to add some context, this is a random team, ranging from beginners, this being their first gwj, to more experienced people - so I just wrote the highest number for the gwj level (I never know what to put in that field).

That being said, there is always room for improvement, so probably most of us will return to the GWJ at some point to continue our journey! ;)

Very fun game(s), love the mix of 2D and 3D!

Thanks! It more or less happened because only one of us had experience in 3d 🤣

I love the visuals, the cat sprite and animation in the 3d world look really funny and unique. Also the keyboard minigame is really fun :)

I think the idea of a cat intervening in politics and just doing cat things is very creative!

My favorite minigame was the rhythm one! The art style and sprite are very well-drawn. I just had some problems navigating through the 3D overworld. Perhaps if it were 2D or just a point-and-click interactive menu, it could better fit the game’s aesthetics.

Congratulations to the team!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Yeah, sadly we did not have the time to match the 3D and 2D visuals better, that probably would have improved the experience here.

Nice! I thought the bit where you lay the cat over as many keys as possible was genius.

Thanks!

I feel like this is really nailing the cat theme, just causing mayhem by stepping on keyboard keys or knocking over ink onto war documents. Love it, really cute. My favorite mini game was the rhythm one, I think it just felt the best, great job!

Thanks a lot for the feedback and for playing!
