Interesting idea, I like the idea of using both sides of the keyboard.
I did really struggle with the timing until I realized I could just spam the keys and that worked ok
The web version was pretty laggy and when I went to full screen it was even worse, but was able to beat the two characters (three if you count the training)
Thanks for submitting
Nice concept! first game of this type I play, it was a bit hard to understand the controls
Performance issues aside the game was quite fun, I really enjoyed the concept!
The idea is super original. But the gameplay is also super-hard for someone who rarely plays similar games. I loved Bastion. I don’t know why, but here, the first boss already feels quite advanced for me, maybe because you need not only to doge the chains of laser notes but also to always sync your attacks and blocks with the tune. I would also love to see the health bar for myself. It would be a bit easier if the performance weren’t lagging.
This is the unofficial scott pilgrim game! The bloom effect is so juicy for the artistic purpose. I like it!
You should just provide us with a downloadable version. Indeed, the game is suffering a lot during the laser phases of the second jam encounter. It was very difficult to play with such freezes. That's sad because I would like to play more.
This one needs to be looked at with a higher standard than usual, based on the experience of the team behind this one.
The raw quality of the art and audio is commendable indeed.
But in a game like this, that's not good enough. When something is wrong, the player should know from the music that something needs to change. The repetitive attack tunes tell me that I was supposed to switch it up a lot more, but that's about all the feedback I could ascertain.
Since you stop to play (makes sense), your positioning is really important so that you don't get stuck playing the shield tune the whole time trying to navigate the bullet hell. This is, indeed, a level of originality not seen in the bullet hell space for some time. That said, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DODGE SCREEN WIDE BEAMS!?
Overall though, this was a really cool experience. You're a strong contender, for sure, but you're not invincible.
Super good art and audio and really original gameplay.
thank you so much!
Super fun, and the concept was very original, loved the graphics and mechanics. I sucked at playing it hahaha, but maybe it's just beacuse I'm really bad at most games!
Really cool idea! I had some lag too but it didn't bother me.
Really cool Idea executed beautifully! Had some lagg issues when all the light pillars appear and sound seems to desync abit making it hard to hit the beat but loved it! Great menu design.
I loved this!! Looks really cool, jazzy music is great, and I love the use of rhythm and musical notes to fight the enemies. Every attack felt really satisfying to execute, and I liked the designs of each attack! I think there's a little bit of desync with the music and notes, though.
Tutorial scene was really well done, too!
Very cool idea, I like the mechanics here, they fit very well together! Here are some nitpicks: I had some performance issues with the lasers coming from top&bottom, also I think nothing really prevented me from spamming the inputs. The sync kinda seemed off for me, too. That being said, I think you did a really good job here, the graphics are nice and the game feels pretty polished.
Thank you so much!
There are definitely some performance hits when exported to HTML, on top of my rush in coding to get things done throughout the jam. A bit of a bummer, but will definitely keep that in mind for future jams
Really nice. Amazing effects and well executed.
thank you!
Whoa very impressive!
I'm very grateful for that tutorial tho, it was quite some buttons to get used to, but very original!
