Amazing game! The pixel art was super clean and cute, and the mechanics were fantastic. I loved the three different abilities and thought you had really clever level design to take full advantage of them. Overall a really fun game. Great job!

Hey, what a fantastic game! I had a great time working through each puzzle and the music immediately captured my attention. The look and feel of your game is fab and the fun graphics of the slime moving around were a particular highlight for me. I think your use of the Rashambo wildcard is a great way of adding some extra challenge to each level.  audibly said 'SLIME!' at the end of each level and I had fun working out how to get through a challenge often saying 'Oh! That's clever!' each time I worked out the solution. I feel like you've nailed the progressive difficulty of each level. Very well done!

Onto some constructive criticism; I noticed each level included a timer in the top left however upon completion I'm not sure if the timer measured my success? I think a star rating at the end of each level based on completion time could add an extra layer of competition and give players a reason to retry each level. I played using a keyboard and trackpad and felt it could have been slightly more user friendly to include the 'W' key as a jump as well as the spacebar. This would free a finger up to use the shift mechanic a little comfier. All this being said I think you've done an excellent job and had a great time playing Paraslime.

This was neat! Unique interpretation of the theme and interesting use of the roshambo wildcard. I kind of wanted there to be a level where you needed to have, for example, the blue worm so that when you approach a red worm (which you don’t want to get) it goes away, giving you a short window where you could grab the yellow worm and speed past the red worm’s location while retaining the yellow worm power, if that makes sense. I kind of assumed that was the key to the Fast Switch level which made me take longer there than I probably should have.

I also loved all the text commentary throughout the level, that was a fun touch.

Great job!

Thank you for playing! That was supposed to be the gimmick of Fast Switch but everyone who play tested it said the window was too short and got stuck for several minutes. We where originally planning on scrapping that level but in the end decided to remake it with the red worm having a longer death cooldown since we thought the concept was cool and really wanted it to be added.

Ah, that makes so much sense! Bummer it had to be changed, but I can see why you did it. Worked out well enough in the end, though!

this was a really fun one! last level was tricky. I'm grateful for the level hints and it was still challenging enough to keep playing. Nice level designing

Developer

Thank you so much! I enjoyed writing the messages and making adjustments to each of the levels.

By far my favorite submission so far. Excellent level design, simple but interesting mechanics that integrate the theme and a wildcard. Dash resets reminded me a bit of Celeste. Very nicely done.

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it! We definitely spent a lot of time on the level design and feel. I remember being up at 1 in the morning with 5 more levels to polish before the jam ended. It was so much fun.

This game is so cutee, I even made a friend play it! I wish you had music too :((

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it so much! We wanted to add more sound effects but ended up running out of time in the end, so maybe a future update post-jam.

Cute.  Solid use of the roshambo wildcard.  Good work!

Developer

Thank you! We had a lot of fun coming up with the idea.

Well done. Nicely designed platformer, with innovative mechanics.

Developer

Thank you for playing! The level design and polishing definitely took most of the time, so I am glad it turned out well.

Nice game! I liked how the parasites interacted with each other and how this could be used to build the levels!

Glad you enjoyed! We where heavily inspired by the rock/paper/scissors wild card for our mechanics so I'm happy it turned out well.

lovely game, and great ideas. Cool of you to leave some comments in-game :D the yellow power up "dash" is reaaallly hard to control. but - otherwise it would be to easy, so: good job overall!

Developer

Thank you for playing! I enjoyed writing the comments and thought it would be fun to scatter them around the levels.
