Nice work!  The controls were smooth, I felt like an agile, powerful monster.  A little more feedback would really amp up the experience, like some effect when your attack is successful (healthbar, sprite flash, blood spray etc) and an anticipation when an enemy is about to attack.  It looks to me like post firing they lower their bow to nock an arrow; if that was the idle state and they raised the bow prior to attack it would be a clear signal to dodge.

Very nice, I like the color/atmosphere with the terrain and lighting. The dash is very satisfying and crisp as well. I was able to dodge the hunters by dashing around them in a circle with the right timing, which felt cool. It would be nice to have some way of seeing how far my attack reaches, because sometimes I couldn't tell if my attacks were reaching. Still a fun short game!

Thank you so much for the feedback! I really can't wait until I get the chance to polish this game and this helps a ton.

Congrats on your first jam! I've never heard of this area of folklore, it was a fun excuse to go digging about the lore behind it.  I like the 2.5D graphical approach, though its a little hard to tell if I'm close enough to actually hit an enemy.  Movement was really fluid, which is easy to get wrong in a 3D game, well done! How do I dodge the archers?

Thanks! And I'm glad to hear I was able to spread a little piece of my culture to others. As for the archers, as much as I wanted to implement it with a real projectile, it's currently not, so you'd best run around in circles as they actually have a slow turn rate (which I couldn't really visibly show with the 2.5 sprites) Thanks a lot for your feedback!

Oh good call! And very understandable on the projectiles, it'd be easy enough to make them spawn an object with a collision detection for the player, but then you also have to code them to aim properly (leading the target and etc.), sounds like a lot to fit into the jam!

Fun mechanics with really nice and fluid controls. The hitboxes were a little annoying tho. Congrats on the jam:)

Developer

Thank you so much! Yeah, I couldn't really polish the enemy's clarity on how they hit you, definitely a priority when I polish this game in the future. Thank you so much for the feedback!

Hey there! This game had such fun mechanics, great job for such a short timeframe and first game jam! The movement with the dashing felt really fluid and satisfying to use. I also really liked the 2D HUD in 3D world. Great work!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm hoping to really get better and join more in the future!

Developer

Shucks, all the 3 versions are bundled in that one zip, sorry.
