Too bad the game could not be finished. The graphics look very promising. Looking forward to the finished version!

Wow I actually had an idea to make a 3D version of a game similar to this literally have the project named Castle Defender ready to go for the next jam I do. This is cool and you got a lot done in a week, submitting at the final hour ! I hope you continue it!

That's a really cool idea, I vaguely knew the city Aachen from playing as German on Civilization games but didn't know the cathedral folklore. I would certainly give a try to a full version of the game.

Also as already said in other comments, crafting a real-time strategy game is no joke, especially for a game jam. You guys did a good job implementing the base mechanics.

Regarding the time management issues in the team, it is unfortunately very common and one of the reasons why I always do game jams alone hehe. Its easier. Still, good job, congrats on the entry folks 🥳

thanks for the warm words.
in the end i think it is not as complicated to finish the game but that might be the phenomen of not knowing better... xD
I think the future will show if i can finish it by myself or if my partner or somebody else is motivated to join.
currently working on an older project, so aix la chapelle is not been further developed (for the moment), but i would like to finish it at least to the degree which was "planned" for the jam.
but first i need to watch a few tutorials and figure out how to do the fighting/collision and friendly/enemy AI.

btw: i played your submarine game. really great game and highly polished

It's so sad you didn't finish, but I can see why - this is an incredible attempt for a game jam. Love the graphics and the cute animations, are these are created for the jam?

Incredible effort and I hope you finish this!

Developer(+1)

the graphics and animations are mostly a asset pack „tiny swords“ everything is linked on the itch game page

I think we could have delivered something cool and playable if my partner had the opportunity to put as much time in as I did.

Oooh, making a strategy game for a jam, that's hard. Great job on what you got done though.

Strategy games are kind of hard, i respect that you did try one for a jam.

Yea it's not completed but some of the basics are good. On side, note, please add fullscreen button to your games. And the in-game description text is way to small, maybe it's bigger on bigger screens, but for me it was unreadable. Wish you to finish the game when in the future!

I really like the art style and direction of the game!

A shame you couldn't complete the game, but a good start for future development and good on you for submitting to the jam! The graphics look fantastic and I liked the background story. Just one note: the tutorial/controls text was very small on my low-res laptop in browser, so maybe consider making it larger. Good luck on continuing the project!
