Great game, loved the music it felt the inside of the great deku tree from OOT. The art really pulled the whole thing together as well. Really cool concept as well, plus it felt really polished.

Great little game/concept. I really enjoyed this!

It was also unclear to me that you were spawning at a random point in the map. I think there's some good mystery to be hand in that, but perhaps a nudge that you don't know where you're starting out, perhaps through dialog, might help?

Great work!

I absolutely love the central mechanic. You did a great job of designing the maze, I was always able to get my bearings with a little exploration, and every death generally felt like a major breakthrough. Excellent idea, I'd love to see this expanded upon.

I like the ambience of the sound and the idea of wayfinding using the map as the main mechanic. I like that the player is able to mark out the map, and I think it was clever design that the starting points look the same from the maze perspective. I got a bit stuck after the first round where I made my way to the center, got sent to the start screen, then could not move the character with WASD after. Not sure what about it but the art style has me half expecting this to be a horror game with a jumpscare waiting somewhere lol. Overall an interesting concept with potential for expansion on the exploration experience. Great work! (The itch page looks really cool too!)

The original idea was more of a story with a sort of horror esque tone, where people continuously are stuck in this maze, until a person comes out and finds out about the truth. Unfortunately I had loads to do in my personal life so never got to the story part. It was never tested for a replay after you get to the middle, so I didnt know about the bug haha. I'll try to find what makes that happen, fun debugging quest :) thanks for playing the game :D

Cool concept, I made it out, I also like that you can make a mess of the map if you're not careful. Would like a little longer on the timeout

Thank you :) Messing up a map for other people was the only thing I could figure out that would relate to the theme so glad that that idea was understood :) I never knew how long I was going to make the timers, but it might have been a bit TOOOO stressful as you say. These are the things you miss without proper playtesting

Fun game and awesome concept! I really love it! I only really have two pieces of feedback, the first is that if you could make it more clear that the player spawns on one of the corners of the map each time rather than the center, that would be awesome as I got confused about wether I was spawning in the center or not for the first few minutes. And then the second piece of feedback would be maybe an option to erase what you draw on the map, as due to my confusion I ended up drawing in places that were absolutely not where I was.

Still I found this a super cool game, I think it has a whole bunch of potential!

Thanks for playing and all the nice comments :D! Having problems figuring out which part of the map you spawn in was part of my idea, would add to the confusion, but I might have gone a bit TOO hard and should have probably made it a bit easier with some sort of clear indication. The idea that you can't delete the paint was actually part of the design even though it might be counter intuitive with some second thoughts, The plan was that if you did something wrong it would follow with you for the rest of the playthroughs, and you would have to circumvent that by adding even more stuff. Vicious cycle type deal that would fit into the theme. But now after I've uploaded it I am not as sure anymore how good of an idea that was haha
