Fun game! I enjoyed the art style. I definitely think like @Anonymyst said It would have been nice to have some puzzle mechanics in the game. Great job though.
Fun game. Really liked the back and forth between the past and the future would have been really neat with some puzzles though: moving boxes/triggering traps/etc...
The art and sound fit well, music was good but stops playing after a while.
As others have stated having an end sequence would have been nice - understandable with time constraints though
Thanks for submitting it was fun!
Excellent work! The art and special effects are amazing and the gameplay feels good!
I thought this game was really cool! I love how it uses the theme and the time travel concept is so cool. Well done!
Reaally Good game, cool visuals + effects, really liked the changing time thing, Good Job
Really liked the short levels, the music and the time shift mechanic. The visuals and aesthetics are very polished, and overall I had a lot of fun.
On the other hand, I wish there was a pause menu and a death screen (if there was and I didn't see it, I apologize in advance). Have I not read the comment about R restarting the level, I would not have played it to the end. I felt the combat was laking a bit of juice too, something like enemy hit flash would really help to show enemies are actually taking damage. Also, after defeating the final boss nothing happened. I think there was an exit on the top left of the arena that should have openned, but it didn't.
Overall, great work with the visuals, level design and concept! This is a very solid game :)
Really fun concept! Reminded me of time-traveling in A Link to the Past :). Appreciated that the levels weren't too punishing and relatively short, so not too much backtracking on a loss.
The performance was oddly choppy for me with a lot of dropped frames. Tried several browsers to no avail, and I'm on a pretty decent computer.
I agree with another commenter that the screen shake felt a bit much. An option to disable it would have been nice!
Great work and I hope you all are proud!
Link to the past was definitely an inspiration, one of my favorites. Thank you for playing!
Good game! I liked the puzzle and combat encounters that you made with this mechanic. The vfx was also pretty cool. However, I wasn't sure what to do next after the final boss. That doesn't detract too much from the game, though. Overall, good work!
Thank you!
I had a lot of fun with this! the time travel effect is super cool, and you used the mechanic to make some really interesting puzzles and enemy combat. I need to figure out shaders... Overall really polished and impressive for the "timeline" you made it in:)
my advice would be to have the game reload automatically, or at least have an onscreen prompt. I definitely missed it in the tutorial and restarted a few times because I thought it had crashed.. I beat the boss and all the enemies in the room, but I didn't get a win screen or anything so not sure if I missed something? It would also be cool to have some player animations if you decide to keep working on it. well done!
Good advice thank you! I do want to touch it up after the jam, there are definitely areas that need work, the
missingfinal cutscene being one of them. Thank for playing!Incredibly polished game! Really impressed with how much you managed to get done in 9 days. Sadly I could not beat the final boss because I am a Bad Gamer but still had fun, loved the chromatic abberation effect you had going on! Nice work!!
Thanks, that's high praise! The final boss may need some balancing, he doesn't really know when to chill out and tends to spawn his strongest attacks... Glad you had fun, thanks for playing!
The time shift mechanic+vfx is good stuff!
Thank you!
If you change the time, you can land in a laser beam. When I died, nothing happened. There is no pause menu and no restart button. The concept itself is very good, but it could have been developed even more. I love the time shift effect. Keep up the good work!
Thanks a bunch, I spent way too much time learning about shaders for this game. R is the restart button, It's on the webpage but not the tutorial, so it's fair to have missed it. Thanks for playing!
really cool concept. like the artstyle and music
i think the music stops after the first death?
I like the visual effects of time travel and that it changes the level. cool stuff!
Thank you! Embarrassingly, I just forgot to loop the music. Thanks for playing!
I had fun playing this one! Some feedback I have is to lower the amount of screen shake when you shoot, because it got a little annoying. Also add some screen shake or something when you take damage because I usually didn't notice when I did. Fun game though!
Thanks for playing!
Amazing concept, really interesting to have to switch between timelines to get past lasers! And there's even a boss fight! I got confused after defeating the boss as I wasn't sure where that lead, so I assumed the game ended there. But the fact that I made it all the way to the boss is testament that I had fun on this one!
Thanks, glad you had fun! Yeah looks like the final cutscene broke, but glad you made it to the end. Thanks for playing!
Fun little game, the music was nice but it quickly broke and left me without music, which is a shame since the soundtrack did sound pretty cool! I did like the chromatic aberration that happened on time swap although it was a bit frustrating that it took so much time, especially with moving lasers! Some of these lasers also kept killing me even if I swapped timelines, but other than that I had a nice experience! Good job on this project!
Thanks a bunch! Yeah it's frustrating to know I probably just forgot to check a box to loop the music, oh well. Glad you liked it, thank you for playing!
Nice concept! You did a good job on the graphics and the music fits the game very well. I made it to the end and finished off the boss. Not sure if there was a cutscene that I didn't get, there seemed to be an exit that was inside walls.
Thanks! I'm overjoyed with how the art and music turned out, Blumbo and Matt are excellent. The final cutscene doesn't trigger for some reason, you saw everything there is now. Thanks for playing!
