Game Description
This is a game where you destroy humans as you travel around a web of towns

How does your game tie into the theme?
In my game, there are many things interacting with each other. Destroying one town may make its population run torwards another town, overpopulating it, which can even lead to a famine! Armies can also provide unexpected danger for the player

Very interesting take on a strategy game with some complex systems! It has nice balance between predicable results and unexpected ones, leading to unintended consequences. Solid implementation of the theme, great work!

Really enjoyed this! That art was well done and fit the theme nicely. The topography was great, and the color palette reminded me of old Sierra games. 😌 I imagine the systems behind the game were fairly complex.

I definitely got absorbed in the game and lost track of time. Great work!

I'm not sure I fully understood all the systems at play, but I destroyed a lot of hospitals and sometimes that's all you can do. Very cool strategy game and simulation, I bet the code is a wonder to look at. Cool game!

Developer

Thank you for playing! Writing the code was quite fun, especially when I'm designing the different systems for migration and giving boosts to neighbours. The code did get messier over time though haha

When the last minute panic sets in and you stop caring about writing good code and just write good enough code. Been there. The Game Jam Experience!

Very cool game. I'll be honest, I at first clicked on the guide option in the menu and immediately noped out of it due to the wall of text. And initially I had a hard time understanding the game and the importance of different mechanics. But after trying and failing three times I figured out how to play it, and it is really fun.

Great implementation of such a turn based strategy game.

Thank you for playing! Haha I'll admit that I always leave tutorials for the last day so I wasn't able to create a more interesting one

Enjoyed this. I played each map one time so far. Nice clear UI in general. It felt pretty simple to pick up despite an intimidating amount to things to do and track.

I liked all the stats and status effects to keep track of. There are many opportunities to strategize between them. I generally tried to cause famines and reduce barracks, though I still haven't beat it, so maybe not the best strategy. It was hard to predict the outcomes of battles. I'd have appreciated some explanation for why I was hit for 150 (for example). Something like seeing the dice rolls.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing and thanks for the feedback! I did think of implementing a dice roll screen but unfortunately there wasn't enough time

Not sure if it's a good score, but I'm happy to say that I murdered 368 humans. I call that a life well lived! (Good job!)
