Okay this one might take the W for me personally. Making something like this in nine days is impressive as hell, so much detail and polish it honestly felt to me like a complete game.

The entire thing feels so cozy to me, like an old ds game that I'd cuddle up on the couch with. Honestly I don't think I have any notes other than I'm impressed, the art, music, features, everything worked well here. From what I can tell it's a one person effort so kudos to you for making something like this in the time provided. If others did help with the project then extend my kudos to them as well.

Fantastic work, this was awesome!

The art is very cute and I loved the soundtrack!  I enjoyed the puzzles as well, though I think one of them (level 3) bugged out on me for a while, with the reflected penguin not showing up once the main penguin was in the blue fog (maybe it got caught on something?).  I also didn't notice the snowflakes until near the end, still managed to pick up 2 of them though.  Great work!

Also, if you don't mind me asking a technical question: Near the start of the game there are some trees on the side, and the penguin appears in front of the tree's leaves when closer to the bottom of the screen but appears behind the tree's leaves when closer to the top of the screen.  This might be a noob question, but how did you achieve that effect?  I tried to have a similar effect in a previous game jam submission but couldn't figure out how to dynamically change the layer rendering order based on position like that.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!  Regarding the effect, I think you are referring to YSort.  You need to enable it on the parent node where you want the YSort.  Its order depends on the sprite position and offset (in this case, the sprite of the player), as well as the 'Y Sort Origin' property of tiles, as far as I know. Here is a tutorial that can help you understand too:

10 restarts, 26 undos and 6 snowflakes. :D

Great game, super fun and with nice puzzles. Congrats!

Great stuff - particularly the art. I enjoyed the theme and all of the graphics were very nice to look at. The song you picked fits it very well too. One of the best I've seen so far - awesome job! I appreciate that you added the option to change key bindings in the settings, lol

thanks!

Gorgeous art direction and an engaging experience! I had a great time playing the game but ended up stuck at a certain level and felt a bit discouraged. I can't remember exactly where I was, but there were two keys and a red leaf with blocking fellows who popped up after a key was collected. I would've assumed this was a full release on Itch.io based on the quality of the work. Nice job!

Developer

Thanks! Could you tell me what level you are at? In the menu, you look at the level at the top and I can help you better :)

Really beautiful game but i got stuck in a level with some sort of invisible keys? Because one of the walls opened at random but there was no way of opening the other one. Or maybe i was really blind or something.

Developer

Thanks! Could you let me know what level you're at? Check the top of the menu to find your level.

The level 7. There is no key or anything. Well, i think there are keys but just invisible, because there is a tile that when I step on, the first gate opens. But I can't find the others.

Sorry for the delay. At this level, you must press all the buttons simultaneously (both in the world of reflection and the outside world) to proceed to the next level.

Oooo, those are buttons! They dont look much like buttons to me, i thought they  were small puddles or something. Thanks for the tip!

This game is really cute and the art is pure eye candy. The puzzles are lacking originality somewhat and i found it a little tedious.

Developer(+2)

I'm happy with the feedback! I really focused more on the visuals and forgot to give enough importance to the puzzles.
