Nicely done! It feels satisfying to play. Really hard to read the font though esp with the chromatic aberration
Thanks! Don't worry, I'll make the text more readable as soon as the voting ends. I already have some ideas in mind to do that.
Really fun game! I really enjoyed the dynamic feeling while playing. The coherence between the art style, music, and gameplay is spot on—such a great choice! In the web version, though, it runs with low FPS. I think it might be related to the shaders, as the FPS drops to 0 whenever a bullet or an enemy appears.
Thank you! I'm glad that you liked my music XD - I'm very good at remixing other songs but I suck at creating my own.
About the lag - After some researching I discovered that instantiating scenes and adding them as child of other nodes causes a lot of lag in the web version for some reason. And guess what? The game is constantly instantiating stuff.
But don't worry, I'll try my best to fix the lag as soon as the voting ends.
I've been playing it a lot these days, trying to get as far as possible. It's very fun and challenging, just needs a bit more optimization for the web version.
Thank you! I'm glad to hear that you liked the game so much that you were trying to beat your own highscore!
Really fun game! Very juicy gameplay and good aesthetic with attention to art style and music. I think the post processing is a little heavy, making the game less readable, but the effect does add a lot to the tone. Transforming into ships with different controls is really cool, I would just be mindful that in my first game I started as the most basic ship and on each transform I transformed into the same basic ship, so in the future limiting the randomness to avoid things like this would be good. But all in all, great game, probably the most fun one I've played so far!
Great game!
The ship controls feel smooth, and the graphics and sound design are really well done. I really enjoyed the overall experience! However, the lag in the browser version makes it almost unplayable.
I’d recommend opening a ticket in the faq-and-support channel on Discord to explain the issue. They might allow you to submit a fix, as it could be considered a breaking bug.
Thanks for playing the game!!
And thanks for the ticket suggestion, but even if I open one I don't know where I'd go from there - I believe there's not much I can do about the lag.
All web games I've played in this jam had at least one lag spike or one visual bug. So that (plus some researching) makes me think that web games are going to lag more than a downloadable build, mainly if the game instances objects and add them as children. And guess what - my game is doing that all the time.
I'll definitively touch this game again once the voting ends. I want to add new powerups, new features, new enemies, etc. But mainly, I want to fix the main complaints about the game - lag is one of them. This might also be a good way to learn what to do and what to avoid during game jams. I hope my next game doesn't suffer from the same lag problem XD
Again, thanks for playing the game and I'm really sorry for the lag problem.
This game is amazing, I really appreciate how polished it is and I'm impressed at how much you were able to accomplish. The post processing effect is really cool, I had to turn it off because it was hurting my eyes but I definitely enjoyed the vibe.
Thanks for playing the game! I'm glad you liked it :D
This is a great game, everything felt so coherent!
As others said, it was a bit laggy in the browser, even with postprocessing off, but it looks very profesional. Amazing work!
Thank you!!
I'l see what I can do about the lag as soon as the voting ends.
This seems like a super cool game, I didnt rate it yet as I might play the downloadable build at a late time, but I did just want to comment that as someone with bad eyesight the red/blue effect on the text makes it really uncomfortable for me to read.
Hello. Thanks for playing the game!
You're not the first one to complain about the chromatic aberration effect (red/blue effect). It can be toggled off in the settings menu, but all post processing is going to be disabled.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but thanks to your feedback I will definitively update the game to make it more accessible as soon as the voting ends!
This game is cool! The graphics are incredible (although I found the sort of digitized effect made text hard to read). Unfortunately, the game lagged pretty bad, and then crashed. Saw from another comment that the downloadable build didn't have the same performance issues though. Super cool retro style game though! It looks really professional. Keep up the great work!
Thank you! I'm really happy to hear that you liked my really simple pixel art XD
And I'm sorry about the web version of the game having some performance issues. Lastly, the digitized effect can be toggled off in the settings menu ;)
Hey! This looks really cool, unfortunately I had some issues playing in the browser (audio sliders did not work, unicode characters not displaying, lag/performance issues.) I downloaded the .exe and it was much better though
Thank you! I'm sorry for the web version inconveniences.
Glad to hear that you had a better experience with the downloadabable version tho.
