A game with very immersive graphics and atmosphere (I love the palette). It felt like entering Limbo, but in a dimension of care rather than fear. Tackling the theme of death is not simple, so kudos for the courage and delicacy with which you approached it.
Thank you so much for playing our game and for your kind words. Your comment about the dimension was unexpected and incredibly heart-touching—I almost teared up a bit. I put so much of myself into making this game, and hearing something like that means the world to me.
Death is never an easy topic to tackle, and it has to be approached with a lot of respect. Thank you for noticing that and for taking the time to share your thoughts.
Looks absolutely stunning, I loved discovering the game universe !
Thank you so much! We worked really hard on creating the game universe, and it means a lot to hear that you found it stunning. We're truly grateful for your kind words!
Great game
Thanks again for live streaming our game! I was watching the whole time but couldn’t join the chat since I wasn’t logged in. I really enjoyed your streams—they’re great! Let’s play together sometime!
Really excellent visuals here. It reminds me of that kind of style that Thomas Brush uses and something I'm attempting to learn myself.
Others have mentioned the Z/X control scheme so I wont go too much into it. I think ledge grabbing should maybe be a default and use up/down to jump up or release. I'd definitely consider WASD in additional to arrows, I say this as a lefty who used the arrow keys for every game for the first 20 odd years of his life :).
Climbing the last hill with the larger scaling on the parallax was really effective and a cool moment.
I know Thomas Brush from YouTube, but I’ve never actually seen his work—he’s incredibly talented! I’ll definitely keep the WASD keys in mind for future updates. I’m really glad you had a cool moment climbing that last hill! That was a last-minute idea, and I’m thrilled to hear it worked so well.
The visuals are amazing! I can really feel the Limbo inspiration. Also good job on the parallax when going up that hill. The music is nice and calming and goes well with the style of the game. The controls and physics were kinda rough however and the floating text disappear a bit too fast when you walk away from the tutorial. But it's definitely a very good game. Looking forward to what you make in the future.
Actually, I’ve never played Limbo—only Inside from the same studio—but my inspiration actually came from Ori and the Blind Forest and Planet of Lana. That said, everyone keeps telling me it feels like a ‘family-friendly Limbo,’ xD. That’s totally fine! Limbo is a great game, and I’m honored that mine gets compared to it. Thank you so much for your kind words! I hope to keep improving and making even better games in the future.
The art is phenomenal, the atmosphere is great and the music is fantastic! A very calm, relaxing and short game!
The controls are a little bit uncomfortable in my opinion. Whenever I see a game using Z and X as its controls I think of Undertale: Arrow keys to move and up arrow key to move. However, this game uses space bar for jumping, and that feels a little weird. You could add support to WASD and the up arrow key as a simple way to fix that! But keep in mind this is just my opinion - You may like control schemes that I don't and that's completely fine!
I’m so glad you liked it! It was a ton of work, and while it’s a bit short, hearing that it felt calm and relaxing means we nailed it.
As for the controls… yup, that’s probably my fault. It feels really odd for me to play a platformer without using the arrow keys, but your point makes a lot of sense. I’ll definitely make the controls rebindable once the jam is over. We’ve received so much feedback that we’re already thinking about adding some small updates!
Interesting game, I really like the monochrome palette and the parallax background achieves a really nice effect. I really like the cutout/puppet style of animation on the character! I ran into some issues pushing the second box down the hill, the character kept letting go of the box and it would get stuck... had to regrab it a bunch to move it far enough. Other than that pretty solid, nice peaceful game.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback! I’m really glad you enjoyed the monochrome palette and the parallax background—it’s great to hear the effect worked well. The cutout/puppet style animation was a strategic choice because it allowed us to add more animations on the go while working with just one drawing of the character. We wanted to focus on creating simple and solid mechanics while emphasizing the feelings we aimed to convey.
We’ve already fixed the box issue, and it will be updated along with some new content once the jam is over. Thanks again for playing and for your kind words!
I loved this! The aesthetics, music, and sound effects are top notch. The art style reminds me of the game "Limbo" from a long time ago, although this game was way more comfy than that. Great work on this one!!!
Thank you so much! I’ve actually never played Limbo, but someone once described our game as a ‘family-friendly Limbo.’ We actually drew inspiration from Planet of Lana and Ori and the Blind Forest, but we tried to stand out by incorporating our own personal style. I’m really happy you enjoyed it!
Absolutely gorgeous art on this.
Thank you! We worked hard to make it stunning and cozy
Really great visuals and atmosphere, well done ! Though the Z key did not seem to work for me sometimes
Thank you so much! We’re really glad you enjoyed the visuals and atmosphere. Yes, the 'Z' key isn’t as responsive as we’d like, but we’ll definitely work on improving that. Thanks for your feedback!
Really stand out visuals, nice job
Thank you so much! We worked hard to make the visuals stand out, and I’m really happy you liked our game!
Love the graphics and animations and audio and overall aesthetic and atmosphere. My only beef is the 8-10 second delay after death. For a jam game in particular, that feels too long. You might consider making cutscenes skippable, unless the time delay is a deliberate choice to punish players for dying.
If you press Z, it can be skipped at any time before the text is displayed. We’re really glad you enjoyed the graphics, animations, audio, and atmosphere! That was exactly what we aimed for and worked hard to achieve. The delay isn’t supposed to take that much time, and we’ll definitely work on making it shorter in the future. Thanks for playng our game :D
Did you make the art and sounds? If so, really well done creating this aesthetic. I really didn't like the control scheme, I'd prefer WASD movement for platformers especially or an option to rebind. Moving the box was also really buggy at times aside. Congrats on crossing the finish line and submitting this!
Yes, we did! It was a lot of hard work. Our goal was to create a simple story-driven game with a stunning experience, combining good graphics and fitting music. Given the time constraints of the jam, it was extremely challenging, but we’re proud of what we achieved. I really appreciate that you noticed!
MMM MMM MMMMMM that parallax when going up that hill felt so right. You did a fantastic job with the visuals here! A very nice cute little story!
Thanks a lot! Yes, I thought it could be stunning to create that feeling of reaching for the stars. I’m so glad it resonated with you
really cool graphics!
Thank you! Yes, we worked hard to make it look both pretty and stunning. I'm glad you liked it!
simple graphics allow for fast development yet very beautiful, i was little bit confused about controls at the start because i would accidentally walk away when tutorial text appears and didn't get to read it
Thank you! Yes, we aimed for a beautiful game that was also easy to develop. Regarding the tutorial, we didn’t want to break the immersion, so the text disappears once you pass a tutorial zone. We’ll definitely think about ways to make it clearer in the future. Thanks for pointing that out!
art looks awesome. very heavy Limbo vibes
Thank you so much! Haha, I’ve actually heard it described as a 'Family-Friendly Limbo' before! xD The art style was relatively easy to work with, and it really helped us create those mysterious vibes we were going for.
One of the most gorgeous aesthetics I've seen in the Godot space. Beautiful.
Thank you so much! That means a lot to us, especially coming from someone who appreciates the Godot space. We put a lot of heart into creating the aesthetics, so it’s amazing to hear that you found them beautiful. Thanks for your kind words
Such a cute little game! n.n the art and music are really amazing, and we were surprised about the translations! :O Amazing work!
Thank you so much! n.n We're really happy you enjoyed it! The art and music were a labor of love, and it’s great to know they resonated with you. As for the translations, we put a lot of thought into making them feel meaningful, so your surprise means the world to us! This project is very special to us, and we see it as a collective effort where every little detail contributes to the whole experience. Thanks again for your kind words!
