Pretty cool, I love that you still added spiders, even though they didn't win the theme and wildcard votes!

Hey! Just two notes. I don't know how this game relates to the theme of the jam. Also, the beam I shot from the wand appeared to have no effect on the spiders.

Yeah, it was meant to be using the Theme Eraze in the way of erazing the enemies from this dimension, and have more of a theme around that and a bit of lore adding to it, but we were short on time and had to settle for a playable prototype.

Can you tell me more on the beam interaction with the enemies for u? I tested both in engine and on itch, and the enemies do die on my end. Does the collision work for u?

I don't know if the collision works. The beam seems to stop when it hits an enemy, but it could be that it's just clipping into the enemy, and then the rest of it is no longer visible. I am using Firefox and my computer uses Linux Mint, if that helps.

Thanks for your response!
I tested again in Firefox, but on windows. Are you sure it doesn't just take a while?  It takes about 5 seconds for enemies to die on my end.  It works for me. We shall try to find out more.

You mean 5 seconds of uninterrupted beaming? I just shot them with the beam for one or two seconds and then kept walking. The spiders seemed unaffected, and I tried beaming them again, but they didn't die. I didn't try shooting the beam at them continuously.

yeah, uninterupted beaming is required. the beam is programmed to move with the player, to simulite a constant laserbeam

so damage per one of your bursts would have been very low, likely not enough to kill it

Oh, ok! Sorry, I had not thought of doing that, but yeah, that fixes it
