Game Description
Grindline is a totally rad skating platformer game. With heavy inspiration from Tony Hawk Pro Skater and Line Rider, get ready to grind out some tricks while keeping an eye out for those collectable cassette tapes.

How does your game tie into the theme?
The character can modify the level using an eraser to access different parts of the map, and to set up unique trick and movement opportunities.

I'm terrible at this but it was fun. The controls are tricky and personnaly i would prefer somethings more like up to accelerate and down to decelerate. That let better controls to do cool tricks in mid air with left and right (at least for me). I love the animation of death too, everythings was well implement

Great game! Reminded me of Super Fancy Pants at first haha. I like the theme and how everything fit together.

There was a bit of glitchiness with the character, nothing game breaking, but I found myself vanishing temporarily or teleporting short distances at times lol.

The tricks were really cool and nicely implemented. Erasing the path was a sick mechanic and it so well with the pencil board. Good job!

Not to brag or anything but I did score over 970,000 points. I did fall off the map without dying and got to do a minute and a half of tricks and backflips which did contribute in some part to that score. I’ve got huge nostalgias for line rider so the game brought back lots of those memories which was really nice. Getting to erase the path as you go is a really smart idea, I didn’t get a moment where it felt like a clever solution to a problem but fun either way. Nailed the tone good work

Blast to the past rofl.

I liked the music, and nostalgia factor

Also, draw = grind rofl

Tricky controls, but the game is well executed and I loved the music! Fun, very fun!

The animation of him erasing himself was really cool.

I'm a terrible skateboarder, unfortunately, but the game looks really well made with great art and lots of mechanics to explore. Congrats!

Super original and a really fun idea, I just wish we could see a bit more of the screen

Haha I love it- I just wish I could see the entire level and also not be terrible at it.

Very good art style. I liked the gameplay, a bit difficult at first learning the buttons, but after a minute you get used to it and start doing tricks. I had fun with this one, great job! (really like the details of the menu screen of the guy smoking, and checking his watch, haha nice touch!)

controls are tricky, but LOVED the overall style and had a lot of fun. audio was really good, and this def brought back memories of playing Tony Hawk. Great Work!

You really achieved a good style and gamaplay here. The controls were a bit hard, with so many buttons, but I really liked the erase application and the character "death". Very cool!

I found it hard to get familiar with the movement, but it became fun very quickly. This is not my cup of tea so I didn't finished and spent my time mostly moving around than collecting stuff, but it's a very solid game I could see winning the jam. It's a very good idea, looks like a lot of work was put into it, and it's an unique take on the theme. Congratulations everyone!

Excellent, I had good fun. The art style is amazing, and the music plays well with the style. Didn't get many cassettes but getting into it. Well done!

Love the hand drawn art style and notebook setting. Your credits page on the game was well done too with the animation and scrolling art.

Game was fun to play and skate around. I don't think I landed many tricks but I had a great time skating around erasing lines.

Really cool idea! Art style is fantastic. Controls were a bit difficult to get down.

That was fun! I liked that the theme played a role in the mechanics pretty heavily, and was a fun take on it, too.  I did find the default keyboard controls to be awkward. Enjoyed the music selection, though. Congrats to the team for the great submission!

Ha Ha, this one was great - easy to get started, hard to master! Think I broke a few bones and got a bruised trying to do tricks! Art style, and music works well, I'll likely have another go later! Good job!

Thanks for checking out Grindline! This was a very fun game to build. We teamed up with a few friends who are pretty new to game dev and it was so cool to see how much they picked up over the week! Excited to do another jam with them soon ;)
