  • A very nice game and theme incorporation. It would be nice if making a pot matching one of the pictures resulted in getting points.
  • Really nice entry, would have explained a little more in game. Could have used a reset (unless I missed that), would have been nice to get a score if you copy one of the designs.

Amazing! The sprinkler in the background was a bit much after a while but the area had a bit of character. Working the claygave that sense of "Oh! I made something!" when going slowly paid off in the smoothness of the clay. Truly fantastic code to have that happen!

I love it. It´s nice and relaxing experience I lack some information about controls, the posibility to restart the pottery and I didn´t feel any haptics. The detail that make possible turn on/off the radio is cool, same as environment and the game feel, congrats.

Thanks for the feedback. On which plateform did you play? I know that haptics does not work on webXR. The haptics should work fine on Quest, the only platform I could test.

I play It in meta quest 3...

Nice concept and set dressing. A deeper clay sculpting simulation would be pretty satisfying in VR I bet, especially with finger tracking; a lot less messy than the real thing. It's a shame the 2018-era explosion of VR sculpting program has cooled off.

I recorded my playthrough

One thing I didn't mention that I see others mentioning below is the haptics; what kind of controllers did you develop on? I didn't notice vibration on my pico controllers.

Edit: just fired it up again and the haptics are working fine. Haptics are weird, I never remember them  being there after the fact but they add so much. I had to remind myself when playing all these games to explicitly focus on the haptics.

I loved this one! If you add a snap zone to the sponge and paint brush, and a way to sit in the chair easily, this is a game I could easily see being sold on the Meta store! Very cool stuff!

This was really fun, even though I couldn't figure out how to shape the pot (since verifying in the screenshots and comments that it's definitely possible, I'll have to try again later - just FYI it wasn't intuitive for me), the painting is very satisfying. Love the environment! (side note, the insects were a nice touch but a little too loud)

While this game feels like it would be a perfect seated experience, I found I had to move around and re-centre my play area a few times to reach the power button and the button for the radio (another cool touch).

PS this concept would work so well in my flower game. I was going to add basic pot painting but ran out of time. A full-on pottery corner in the dome would be next level. On the other hand, I didn't even finish my game as-is; I'm impressed with the limited scope of your game and the excellent polish you were able to achieve as a result.

Overall a very inspiring project, great job!

Thanks for your feedback.

I expected the sculpting not being intuitive enough. Therefore, I tried to explained in the game description: you should use the primary trigger while holding the sponge in order to put pressure for sculpting.

I mostly expected player to stand up while playing. I thought about the possibility to play seated but I haven't the time to improve the experience this case.

As a child I lived in a place with a lot of cicadas in summer. I try to reproduce the ambiance in my game for the nostalgia :) These insects are even louder than this in practice (much louder than birds which you cannot hear usually ^^).

Wow, I'm really impressed with this one! Super creative concept. Shaping the pot feels really good - the haptics for it are perfect. The environment is super bright and inviting, it definitely fits in with the theme. Great job!

Thanks!

Loved the experience ! The environment looks really good and the interaction was really well handled. I wonder how the sculpting is implemented as I've noticed the quest version struggles a bit when the pot is being sculpted. Only thing i missed that could have been cool to add would be to be able to save the sculpted jar.

Edit: ok so i peeked inside the apk and i saw that the sculpting is mainly done using the TubeTrailMesh resource that is built into Godot ! That's so cool !

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the comment!

Yes, the sculpting is based on TubeTrailMesh, the sculpting edits the curve. For the performance issues: my guess is that editing the curve rebuilds the entire mesh, at every frame + twice because there is actually two distinct meshes (inside and outside surfaces). After reading your message, I thought about different optimizations I could do with TubeTrailMesh, I may patch the game after the jam. You tested on Quest 2 or Quest 3?

The very next feature I intended to implement is the ability to pick-up the jar and put in on a shelf to save it, then grab a piece a clay to start a new one. I was too short on time for this.

Nice ! I’ve tested on a Quest 2

great job!  very simple and easy to play, only issue i had was losing the sponge to the void lol

Developer

Ah ah, it is my fault for not having created snap zones for the tools ^^'

Submitted

no worries, its a super common VR pitfall.  if you dont want to do snap zones, or dont want it to snap back all the time, you could reset its position to default either through a timer that starts on drop or when it enters an area3d or something, i did something similar for the tools and flowers for my entry.  great job though, it was fun!

I really love this game. I love the simplicity of the look and how intuitive it is to play. Really relaxing :)
