Short but sweet, as they say! It was a short game, but what was there was definitely well done. The graphics were simple but effective, and the palette was used. Theme could maybe been a bit deeper...
The audio, with music and sound effects, added to the experience. The challenge wasn’t very high but just enough to keep it interesting—especially the reversed jump, which required some extra focus😊.
This game leaves you wanting more, and I’m curious to see what potential updates might bring. More content would definitely be key. All in all, a good prototype game—great job! 😊
Neat demo. I can tell a lot of thought went into the core gameplay. What were your primary inspirations? Both gameplay loops are rather familiar.
The graphics got the job done well enough. It's hard to comment much on the gameplay with so little there. Maybe the player could switch gravity mid-air in the future?
My primary inspirations were Gravity Guy and a small game there was inside the game Pou. Both old school games.
Good artists copy, great artists steal (Picasso).
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Nice game with a good idea. To bad only one level (or at least that i could see).
The music stopped halfway but fit very well with the game.
One thing i would add is a save point system. Its telling on myself but i am not a good gamer and i had to restart a lot, it gets a bit old when you have to keep repeating the same part of the level. a few good placed save points can help with that
Thank you for your comment.
I would have liked to create more levels, but being new to game development, I didn't know how to implement a tile system. As a result, I had to place each tile manually, which made it particularly difficult to create additional maps.
The issue with the music is that I didn't configure a "MusicManager" for the map music, and for some reason, when you export a Godot 4 project to web format, the music doesn't loop properly (very annoying).
I also considered adding a save point system since my brother had trouble progressing through the game, but I didn't have enough time to implement it.
If you're interested in the music, I found it on Pixabay. I really enjoyed browsing through the sounds they offer.
I plan to continue working on this project to add a few more levels and will update it on itch.io.
I appreciate you checking out my game and taking a moment to leave a comment.
Great Game!
I love how you separated the two vertices of a usual 2d platformer controls! That changed the tone of the game dramaticly too which is a very fun experience.
Fun little game, the controls were very satisfying
