Fun game, admittedly still have not played Vampire Survivors nor HoloCure but I think the weapon switch mechanic is a fun take on the style. I loved trying the different weapons, though the tentacle spin seemed to be the best option by leaps and bounds from what I was able to try.

Enemies seemed a bit too tanky, it didn’t feel like I was close to getting anywhere to handling the number of Boros on screen. Especially with the sword, not being able to handle multiple enemies and struggling to take out the ones I was attacking made it feel like a chore. It also seemed like there wasn’t a cap on the Boros spawns and at some point I think it was causing the game to chug, I definitely felt the game slow down as a wave of Boros approached me at one point.

A score system would have been nice for this type of game too, since there’s no real end goal outside continuing to play.

I’d love to see the game get expanded on, there’s a lot of potential and I enjoyed it a lot. Great work!

God I LOVE the Artstyle and Animations of this one. This is also a Game i would love to check out if it gets to be completed since i love Swarm Survivors. About the Chaos Dice Mechanic its a nice Idea but i would maybe rework it a bit. I can't say for sure how but the current version of switching Weapons is only viable until you get the 2 Weapons you desire (and in my experience its only the Tentacles, Ames teleport and Guras Dash). After that there is no reason to use it again because it is free healing for the duration. Maybe Buff Calli's and Kiara's Weapons a bit, add a little extras and this will definetly be a solid Game. Keep it up!

  • Art is very well made across the board. The amount of animation is impressive for a game jam.
    • Generally all the attack animations are quite nice But in particular, the Ina tentacle spin, and Gura wave look particularly cool.
    • In combination with the SFX the gura wave is actually quite fun to use. Waving through a big group of enemies is cool

However, I feel like the enemies are a bit too tanky. They take a lot of hits to be defeated and it’s hard to tell when they are defeated since you are attacking such a large crowd of them. It sort of makes it difficult to feel like you are dealing damage.

An hold to auto-attack feature would be very much appreciated.

Also, it can be a bit difficult to tell what the random buffs/debuffs are. You are often looking so closely at the action that it’s hard to notice the buff/debuff icons on the top right of the screen.

  • Some kind of Visual Effect when they change can help.
  • Also, I am still not quite sure what the buffs/debuffs are. I do notice my cooldowns going down sometimes so that may be at least one of them.

Pretty good start to something that could become excellent. The time to kill feels very slow but that may just be due to the lack of feedback when a Boros is defeated. The abilities are good and giving the player a randomised couple is a unique idea. Some combinations can feel a but under-powered though, for example Time warp + Wave attack is pretty difficult. 
Overall it's a great prototype and It would be good to see it expanded after the Jam.

The sprite work on this is really impressive, especially all the attack effects!  Gameplay is fun, and I appreciate that you've written out all the effects of each attack in the description.
As for the gameplay loop itself, I do feel that it needs a little more incentives for surviving. Maybe like a score/leveling system of sorts. Chaos burst does feels like it needs a little more thought into it, since most of the time it seems more like a downside when used, especially if you've already gotten the attacks you like (and also losing the ability to heal).
Overall, a really solid base you have here!

Great idea, but barely playable. Enemies spawn randomly, so you can't kite them. Most combinations work not very well with each other. Smashing buttons is tiresome (hold the button would be good idea, at least for Kiara and Calli)

Yeah, we didn't really have time to flesh out the gameplay, so it's pretty barebone. Somehow I didn't think of holding down the button. That was also bothering me but I didn't want to auto attack. It didn't occur to be to hold the button which would have been easy to add..
