This is a cute little game, although I think some improvements could be made to the presentation.

The way the whole book disappears and appears again when going to the next page is really distracting. The overall layout is odd. I'd prefer if the book took up more real estate, and though I sort of get that this is going for a storytime feel the combination of black background and random clipart is more unsettling than cozy.

I also saw some text that was cut off (after eating, I think).

The story isn't really my cup of tea, but I think it does the sort of cute and charming thing it's going for pretty well. Maybe it could use some copy editing. Some of the phrasing was odd, and possible incorrect, but I wasn't really going through as a proofreader. But the overall structure was fine.

Answering the the feedback questions: Like I said, I think does a good job of what it's trying to be but it's not really the sort of thing I'm into. I somewhat enjoyed it, but probably won't come back for more later.

Awesome Story, It would be cool to see some kind of animation when the pages switch, Even if the screen just shakes a little, But still it is a finished story that is interesting and cool. Keep it up, If you get a chance I would love it if you could check out my game

I stole some bread, went home and ate the bread and went to sleep. I loved it!

I like what you have here, and can see a lot of potential. Animating the page flipping of the book, and providing some more scenery in the background could do a lot for the presentation. You could place the book in a 3D environment with some nice baked lighting, or even use multiple layers of images and have them parallax or some other fun shader magic.

That's a great start to a visual story book!  The story was nice~ I think people would play it more if it had more "game juice".   Like it would be nice if the duck changed expressions with each page :D Or even better the art completely changed (like a children's story book pages) Some chill music and some sound effects would help a lot too! Sound is half the experience hehe. Keep it up! Please check out my entry when you can :D

I liked it! I think the short sentences make the rythm very good.

I think in future updates I would love to see different illustrations on the left page. But maybe also some reactions from the family?

The story was cute. I like that during my second playthrough I got the opportunity to eat the bread I found in the picnic basket

It reminds me of a book for kids, and I really love the family reading at botton.
A little more work on the graphics: big fonts, full page, story related graphics... will make it better, it's a game I surely will give to my nephew when they start to read.
I like the story, I think it can give more paths later and I surely will read it again if it's updated!
Good job!

Like your  take on choice-based stories. The texts are short&sweet - good job!

Was working on a similar idea in the past - kids exploring a story world with their parents. By making certain choices, a story continues to evolve. More text in that one, though ;-) Found a recording, if you are interested (in this part, the girl feeds some ducks and gets a feather in return): https://mitmachgeschichten.nicosteiner.com/media/videos/reading-book.m4v

It's Great from my point of view. I really enjoy this types of games and I know it's hard to extend such a game, like adding more conditionals to the existent ones, and make the story points blend in. Thank you for sharing it! :)

Cute! The story is short and could be a bit more exciting, all I did was go to the lake and eat some worms.  I would play again if you added some exhilarating adventures :)
