Played till the end and the cutscene was super cool! I really like the colour palette and the aesthetic with the music! The only thing I would comment on are the mortars, they fly too high that they always drop just behind the enemy if they are still moving towards the base, not sure if that was intentional though so that the base always takes a bit of damage

Developer

Awesome! Thanks for playing through our game. I know that Lide Master already increased to size of the mortar shells, but I also feel like there should maybe be a ways to defeat space spiders before they get to damage Project Needle.

Developer(+1)

As you've noticed, the mortar is only good at shooting still targets. To make up for this disadvantage, it's also capable of killing multiple enemies with one hit (area damage, up to 5). I programmed it this way with an aim to have other weapons that worked differently in the future, but we ran out of time near the end so we stuck to one mortar and troop deployment.

You make a good point, the mortars are annoying when they miss!! Thanks a lot for the feedback, I've just pushed an update where they never miss their target, and to keep things balanced I boosted the enemies too.

Your feedback is appreciated! Also, thanks for playing till the end! We're glad to hear you enjoyed the game :D

I liked this game! The concept is very neat and interesting! Is there a way to play the game? Unfortunately, my game crashed not sure if it was the game itself or my computer but the screen was just frozen in the game ack

Developer

Sorry to hear that the game didn't work for you. It could be an issue with the browser you're using; different browsers run web games differently. For best performance, I'd recommend running the game on google chrome

Good game I like the gameplay slowly building a civilization and extracting resources for the enviroment. How did you learn all this art it put all of us to shame. The game was lagging a bit and made my computer heat up too much so I cut it sort and didn't finish the game, but other than that good game.

Developer

Thanks, Tynnu made all the art assets and he did a spectacular job with that! Sorry to hear that you had to cut the game short though, on my end it works well. If you don't mind, can I get more info on what type of browser you're using? HTML games tend to run best in Google Chrome.

I was running on Firefox and I have a Ryzen 7 5700g (but my cooling is not good)

Developer

I see. If you could switch from FireFox to Google Chrome or another browser then you should be able to see huge improvements in performance! Not just for Project Needle, but for any HTML game you try running on your end. FireFox values privacy over performance more strictly than other browsers, and so it takes a lot of extra steps while running HTML files.

For some reason i hate timers. Art and atmosphere good.

Developer

That's fair. Thanks for playing!

I love the unique take on the theme and object! The atmosphere was really nice and having no sound effects until the end was clever. It made me feel isolated and tiny just like the characters in the game. It did start to get a little slow once I had more people and tasks to complete but that was very minor. Overall great job!

Thanks a lot for the feedback, we're glad to hear that you've had an enjoyable experience! Also congratulations on getting to the end :D

Ooo I like the pixel art style, the color palette and the space-y music of the game. Clicking the stuff has nice UI interactions as well. I wasn't sure what the controls were and couldn't seem to get things to move despite clicking randomly and stuff. Took me a few minutes to figure out the tick was a button lol. I'm glad the game can run in the background. I think its a nice chill game to have while doin other stuff since theres quite a bit of waiting lol. I think one thing that could help is to make the ui possible to click awayas there was a point I couldn't click an attacker under another text bubble. Overall it is a pretty fun game! Well done!

Thanks for the feedback, we're glad you enjoyed the game! I'll try to push an update soon to handle the issue of the text prompts getting in the way, it should be out in an hour. Thanks again for the feedback, we appreciate it!

Developer(+2)

Either my programming skills improved a lot over this week or I just got lucky, but I was able to make an update in 5 minutes :D you may try it again now if you wish, the text bubbles won't dare get in your way ever again lol

Ooo thats a clever work around there hehe nice

I'm not usually a fan of games with waiting as a mechanic but this game changed my mind; it was very fun! The  immersion into the world of project needle was definitely well done, and it was satisfying to level up each upgrade even though there were timers. Great job!

Thanks, we're glad to hear that you've enjoyed the game!

Really cool spin on the concept! Very creative and athmospheric, I absolutely adore the soundtrack and it’s whole aesthetic.

Only issue I found is that it ran quite sluggish on my end, maybe is it because I’m on Firefox or something? Good job, anyways!

Developer(+1)

Hey Neil, we appreciate the feedback! Sorry to hear that it ran a bit slow on your end, we'd recommend using chrome browser for best performance. Firefox tends to run HTML files slower than Chrome.

Hi, composer here. I'm glad you liked it!
