Very polished for a jam game! Papers Please is one of my favorites so I enjoyed this quite a bit
That was our inspiration sadly cant implement proper logic like "paper please" but we had fun making it
That's funny, it's logically similar to "paper please."
yes, it was one of our inspirations! Fun fact: for the first Hours we thought about doing an ace attorney stile game instead, but in the end this idea won!
Let me start off by saying that, this is one of the best games from this jam I have played thus far.
I really liked and thought the idea of having to read a child's letter and file in order to determine whether they have been naughty or nice this year was very fun and unique from most of the other entries from the jam. I was amazed by the sheer variety in children's files and letters and some children's files and requests were just jaw dropping and or funny. "Went back in time to kill Hitler", "I wish for Santa's death", "sold drugs to a mexican cartel". I also liked the games art style and music a lot.
I can tell you and your team went all out while making this game and made sure everything from gameplay, audio and art was nothing short of perfect. I'll make sure to give this game the rating it deserves.
thank you for the apreciation <3
Best game I played so far, I really like the level of polish, audio and graphics, also original use of an anvil
Thank you glad you like it
Oh my god this game is so good and I totally agree with the anvil being bad for people's imagination! Great game.
Glad you like it have fun and thank you
Thank you! Happy to hear. Anvil really was our last choice, so we were very unprepared for it.
Amazing game! First submission I found without bugs. Agree on the anvil.
Thank you,
[Inside Story: Thier was a bug that made it unplayable at a late stage]
That bug still hunts my dreams
The idea is fun. Both the music and visuals is really good. Some of the bad things not necessarily bad in real life. But anyway a good jam game. Well done.
Its just a simple fun game with the intent to make user laugh nothing serious have fun and thank you
I LOVE THIS GAME, AMAZING <3
Thank you so much
I enjoyed your game and couldn't agree more that the anvil is a terrible item. Great submission!
Thanks it was a silly take on anvil
Haha thank you. We really wanted to take a stab at the vote for anvil lol
The game was suprisingly fun, I encountered an anvil once and it said "was voted the worst special object". The artwork is cute!
Yeh it was just to suprise the player
This game was amazing I cracked up a few times, the one where it said "voted for anvil as special object" was hilarious. At first I thought the gameplay was kind of lame because it ultimately amounts to sharing the opinions of the dev to win but as I played I realised it was part of the punch line, like realising that "enjoying a disney film" is counted as a bad thing 😂 actual goated game and the illustrations are just hilarious too
Haha I'm so glad that resonated with people... we were so excited working with the Grandfather Clock or the Typewriter, we even had a backup-plan for Washing Machine.... then Anvil was voted through! xD So we wanted to take a stab at the voting itself lol
I really loved this game the art is amazing but the most thing that I liked is the kids description like how tall they are, where they from, and what they did, its so amazing and immersive this is a hidden gem, great work
Thank you! It took a while to create the databases for all the kids, but that was exactly what I was hoping for, that it would feel like there was variation to the kids.
>Kid attended funeral without screaming, sleeps with night light on, won an Oscar for Titanic III, joined chess club, robbed bank with a water gun, and wants to kill Santa.
>Puts them under an anvil because they want Santa dead
>Is fired
What? I think any time a person commits a murder or wishes murder on someone including Santa deserves to get the anvil.
Aside from the weird way the game judges which children should be naughty or nice, I thought the game's idea was bloody hilarious and silly.
Yeh that was the point to make player laugh
Nice game! Art is fantastic!
thank you
Great job! It feels like your Santa, so you have to be thoughtful!
Would be grateful if you also rated our game)
Yes thank you for playing will definitely reat yours
That was great. I liked the idea a lot.
thanks
Amazing entry! I was a bit confused on what determined a naughty/nice kid, but I'm sure I could have figured it out with time.
You dont have to think that much Its just a silly game have fun
Placing kids under an anvil is something I was not expecting doing lol, very fun, great job!
Thank you
Certainly one of the best games I've played this jam. The art and sound design is top notch and I love the references to different internet memes placed into the descriptions of each child. I can only imagine how you guys managed to program this altogether because I can't. The only criticism I have is that I got a death screen after giving a kid who cooked meth with his chemistry teacher a gift. wtf. That's 100% worth a gift. Have you seen how difficult it is to cook meth and to get it to be 99.1% pure like are you fr. how bout i make you an offer you cant refuse. 5 stars in every category except for fun cause clearly this game doesn't know what that is. anyways merry christmas.
Thank you and Merry Christmas!!
Thank you very much! You are very right, being able to cook meth.. that kid is definitely going places! xD
cool! sprites are high quality!
rate my game and comment!
Thank you and Merry Christmas!!
