Cool game - loved the pixel art and music! Movement is a bit slow I feel, I know it'd make it really hard with arrows travelling faster but I think everything should speed up a few notches ;)
Was a cool hybrid of a bullet hell and a VS/Gauntlet style slash 'em up  - will be really cool if you add bonuses, level ups and basically extend the time each time you survive - like start on 30 seconds, then increase by 30 secs every level or something, make it fast and furious and juicy and I think it'll be a really cool game. Also, I really like the choice to make it an isometric plain instead of just top down - nice touch ;)

Great work in such a short time!

I enjoyed playing the game. i hope you continue to work on it. beat it on first try. would suggest making an unlimited timer option after you win the 3minutes to see how far someone can get and possibly an indicator showing which way your weapon is facing/going to swing. i know its related to the mouse angle but sometimes when you are running around you think you are swinging the correct way and miss your target because the mouse was not lined up enough. in its current state of 3 minutes only i don't see a high level of replayability for most people. its unlikely that after winning a few times they will come back to the game again. This is why I'm suggesting the unlimited timer because that's a simple option to get people to come back over and over again with little modification to the current game. hope you consider these recommendations and make the game better. well done overall!

I actually don't like Vampire Survivor or other such games, but I enjoyed the music and pixel art of this one. :)

I beat it on my first try and I felt it was a bit easy. I just walked around in circles and gathered enough orcs in one place to cut them down all at once, which generated plenty of potions in one spot to heal me back up instantly.

I also felt the movement speed was a bit slow.

Controller support would be awesome with this sort of game. Maybe left stick is movement and right stick is direction (maybe with some kind of indicator, since you don't really see which way the character is facing). Then some button to attack.

Thank you for your feedback. Glad you enjoy the game.

Controller support and other quality of life seems great to have.

This was great haha! It reminded me of a 2.5D version of the original legend of zelda. I was able to get to 3 minutes barely on my second try. The art. music, and VFX were all great. With how many enemies stack up it would be awesome if you could add a charged sword throw attack that plows through a group of the enemies at once but leaves you vulnerable until you get your sword back. Or something else that extends the slash/move loop you have going on. Really awesome job, I am excited to try it again on the next iteration.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback, and interesting idea.

With yours, and others' comment, I'm really thrilled to make the next iteration.

I had fun with this one, beat me a couple times but I came back for more and it paid off! At first I thought the character movement was a bit slow but then I got used to it and enjoyed the challenge it brings. One thing that stands out to me is how the choice of music fits really well with the art style and general vibe, and I enjoyed those chiptunes. All I'd say is maybe add a speed potion pickup or some other pickup item, like a power up of some kind. I think if you wanted to expand it to a bigger game you could make a cool vampire survivors type thing here, best of luck with your gamedev!

Thank you for your feedback. Glad you enjoy the game.

I'm arguing with myself if I should expand this, or make a new one for the next bootcamp lol.

This is a lot of fun! It's a lot like Vampire Survivors, but the main character not fighting back sets it apart from the "bullet heaven" genre. I did get to 30 sec and retried a few times. It's fun enough to keep trying, only missing a long term goal or some unlockable to keep me going.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback, and happy you enjoyed the game.

Might consider more gameplay, and long term goal in the future.

Congratulations on finishing your game! I really like the concept here and your pixel art and presentation are done well.

I felt like the movement and combat was a bit too slow and clunky, I was barely able to keep out of the orcs reach whilst doing my best to attack whatever I could without loosing health. I know the objective is meant to be survive 3 minutes, but as player I felt I had no other tactics than to run and hope for the best, making the character feel underpowered and slow. I noticed that I was able to move diagonally faster than in a single direction and that gave me a bit of an upper hand but generally this is considered a bug.

I also thought the enemy arrows were way too slow, and they also seem to change direction mid-flight though this could have been my imagination or a weird effect of being able to outrun them and having them move around the screen in unexpected ways. As a player my general expectation is for arrows to fly straight and quickly across the screen. This would make them harder to dodge, but I noticed I could attack arrows to destroy them but I felt like some more options could spice up the gameplay, for example, being able to deflect them with a perfectly timed attack, or perhaps adding a shield to be able to block (but shielding slows movement speed for example).

I think you've got a great start to some really fun gameplay.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback. That means a lot.

I'll check the diagonal speed later (I may miscalculate that.), and might add some more moveset to the game.

Nice presentation :) Here are my points:

- In the current state the game feels fairly impossible, only tried it once but was immediately overwhelmed with many archers I could not get close to;

- The game doesn't let you retry after failing, press to start won't work a second time;

- Would be nice to let players attack the arrows;

- Feels pretty hard to know where character is aiming with this perspective;

- Haven't reached any, but are there upgrades or ways to refill health at some point?

- Feels a little dull that you could basically turn around the spawned orcs for 3 minutes without even having to kill any, and possibly win the game that way.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback (and really on point).
I fixed the bugs, and attacking the arrow is now possible.

- The potion is dropping from enemy, but the rate may be too low to spawn one.
- And, yeah running around could possibly win the game, which I don't figure out how to fix it yet...

I think you could have a little level design pass with navigation obstacles and better defined spawn logic for the orcs, , or simply require player to kill x number of orcs.

Played a second time and managed to survive a minute by circling around orcs bashing at them, found it hard to differentiate archers from hammers.

Nice work. Love the pixel art, music and sound effects. Game play is solid. I did have some enemies spawn right on top of me a few times. Any way to setup a dead area around the player so they can't spawn that close?

Developer

Thank you for your feedback.
I fixed the enemy spawn point. (I did make it on purpose, but that would not work, I guess. lol)
