Hi,

My score: 1068 :).

The educational level came in very handy here, as it gave me the opportunity to study cuisine and cooking recipes. However, the reality is that you can't serve everyone, so you have to hand out sweets and drinks to at least somehow stay afloat :D.

The graphics and music are nice. The gameplay is also great.

However, I would like to explore the animal theme a little more. Maybe instead of human recipes, serve what animals eat, for example: cats - milk, cows - grass, crows - nuts, etc.

It would be good to have a cooperative mode or multiplayer, where the two of you would try to cook for customers, I think then there would be enough hands for this, or you have 2 stores, each with 2 employees and compete to see who will let more customers go :).

It was fun, I felt like a store owner :), congratulations!

Really cute and beautifully implemented. It is damn hard, tho!

Amazing work, this game is beautiful and so complex. So here's some of my thoughts as I played a bit...

  • Pacing is a bit difficult, especially at first when figuring things out. Like right away the first customer is asking for a monte cristo sandwich. Maybe just send customers in one at a time at first. For the first customer at least give the player unlimited time just to get started and start with something easy.
  • Remembering the recipes was really hard, maybe it could just show you the recipe for each order?
  • It would be nice if was possible to put food items out on the counter. this way it makes it easier to juggle multiple things at once. Also there could be multiple sandwich stations and multiple coffee stations.
  • Trash can to far away! generally it is better to not punish the player when they are already down as it just makes it even harder for players to recover when they are doing bad.
  • Great music! It would be kind of cool if there was a radio in the store and you could switch between different tracks.
  • If i take bread and put it on the sandwich station, and pick it up again, it shouldn't be bad!
  • It would make sense if food burned if left on the stove for too long.
  • The time limit for the day would be good to show so players know how much time they have left.
  • Maybe it would make sense to start with a more limited menu at first. like day 1 it is just a coffe and sweets shop. Day 2 they have sandwiches. day 3 more recipes. etc. This would also help break up the gameplay into more digestible sections. Maybe you can even buy upgrades and rebuild the shop?

There are lots of really great things going on in this game. I hope you keep working in it because I wouldn't even recommend adding anything, just tweak and improve what you have. Help players to get in the zone of making food and they won't be able to stop!

I think the controls and timing could be a little more lenient.

At least I can make ham+cheese sandwich in real life LOL.

i have to admit, this took me way more to get used to than i initially expected, there are a lot of things you need to make food and drinks with its a bit overwhelming at first, but once i got into the groove this game became a neat little cozy cafe simulator. the visuals add a lot to the coziness!

Very cool project and I can see that you put a lot of work and effort into it!

This is really fun, but like others have commented, it could be a lot better if you just tweak it to make it easier at least to begin with. Slow down the customer rate a good bit at the beginning where you have ample if not extra time for at least the first few customers and then speed it up afterwards.

It could also be nice if you added a pause button (with or without a timer limit) so that you could pause the game to reference a recipe when you come across an order that you don't know right off hand.

I feel like I also noticed that if I missed an ingredient or two (or didn't know that I had already laid the bread down) and grab a sandwich before it is finished then it is marked as bad sandwich and I have to throw it away and start over, even if it was the correct ingredients so far but just missing some extra ingredients.

This is a very noble effort, but with everything going on in it, it just really needs some balance, and possibly some QoL improvements. Things as simple as being able to access the pastries from the side as opposed to walking around to the back (yes I know, that is more realistic, but this a game after all) could do wonders for the gameplay and ease of access. Being able to use the mouse to do things alongside the keyboard could be great too.

Great project!

One more note: it would be so much better if you could loop that music that you are using properly. It throws me off every time it starts over because it is not a perfect loop. Even if you want to send over the file you used I could loop it properly for you.

I really liked the graphics and the music!  Also the tutorial was a nice touch since it takes some learning. I personally found the difficulty level a bit too high (I can manage the coffees and the cakes, but the sandwiches were really difficult to prepare), so perhaps this could be adjusted by making the kitchen smaller and/or updating the UI to make the preparations a bit easier. For example it would be helpful to know what is on the sandwich table while food is being prepared, and perhaps allowing more things to be carried in one go.

Fun game!
It's challenging but fun. I love when the customers want burrito's but hate when they order sandwiches. I like the feeling of panic I get when the emoticons over their heads change. It feels like I'm actually working in the cafe.

Controls don't allow for diagonal movement so it can feel a little choppy at times but that adds to the challenge!
Keeping the recipes open was a must for me. Great game!
