nice job! the mechanics worked well and i liked the elements that added extra visual interest, like the tether line and that the bubble stopped moving when connected.

You got some fun factor to it! Maybe needs a bit of storytelling and why we shoot or collect bubbles. Other than that, it's smooth to play, no issues whatsoever. Enjoyment and challenge are balanced. Plus game can be finished, which I greatly appreciate in a jam game. Good job!

Developer

Thank you. For the story telling I had this whole idee that the green bubbles are bad emotions like anger, fear, dispair and then you can convert them into good emotions like happiness (the pink bubbles). I wanted the player to collect all the pink orbs and place it in slots which is then connected to a heart at the top of the screen. Sadly because this is my very first game jam I decided to keep it basic and release something that is in a playable state. Don't want to bite off more than I can chew haha

Great game! I think is cool that you can jump at different heights and that you include coyote time, Its fun to jump around and shoot stuff. As feedback I think an option to jump down the platform would be nice, also UI elements to see how many hits and how many orbs you have.

Thank you. Glad you picked up on the coyote time, it makes the character feel alot more agile without getting frustraded on missing the jumps. Funny enough I was also thinking about jumping down the platform when pressing the "S" button. When I played Contra as a kid you could press (down + jump) and then the player just drops down to the next level which is pretty cool. I agree that some UI elements like counters and health bars would definitly make the game much better.

Simple game mechanic, but great fun! I had a good time playing the game! I love the pixel art style, and the retro music! Good job on the game! :D

Good job,I Liked the idea and the art style but i wish that there was a posses bar for our health

Developer

Thank you. Yes, I was actually busy with the health bar and orb collection counter at the end, but I ran out of time so I decided to at least submit the game before I break everything with rushed code haha :)

Greetings, i'm from the https://itch.io/jam/lost-relic-games-1/rate/1579785 submission!

Funny small game. Wasn't filled with content but the idea was alright!

Guess with more game feel and more levels it could be a very good game!

Took me a few attempts, felt like the harpoon/connector sometimes wasn't being friendly with me XD.

Loved the tunes, especially after a little bit, picks up into a funky jam :D!

Simple and enjoyable when you just need a quick game to enjoy. I can see this being more fun if you add some more complexity to it. (powerups, highscores, knockback when using the gun, etc)

But I think the game is too short and I don't know how it fits the theme. The sprite you used didn't really fit each other too, since their pixel sizes are different.
