You described this as a 2 player game, but it was very playable solo! This linked mechanic used for combat is very interesting. Well done!

Really cool! You can play with a friend, but also, if you want a challenge, you can single play it. It was fun, great job.

A VERY smart game that forces the player to do on the fly decision making. The thing that I really love about this game isn't just the fact that the two characters are connected via inverse relationship of distance and damage, but also the fact that the enemies and the platforming are themselves intrinsically linked to each other. You always have to pay attention to HOW the enemy is approaching the pot of gold, and from that determine which kind of platforming route is the best in order to timely "sandwhich" the enemy. Aside from maybe the fact that the font is only legible in fullscreen mode, there are no complaints. You can also easily build on top of this by maybe adding enemies that move in a unique pattern, and also maybe add unlockable abilities for the characters that give them unique movement patterns as well (like maybe allowing them to float a bit).  Really great work!

I love this. The art is right up my alley and the dual character control scheme - while challenging AF - makes it feel very fresh and different. This kind of game massages your brain in a manner that I think can actually hone your cerebral lobes and hand-eye coordination.

Love the quaint graphics and cool mechanic of the further you are the less you connection does. Well done!

Nice approach, you shouldn't advertise it as only a "two player" game, one can handle both of them perfectly. But yes it would be nicer if we all had some friends to play with. Only thing I would add is some kind of damage indicator for enemies. Nicely done!

Game was awesome! Played it with myself since I don't have friends, equally as interesting of a concept alone!

Some commented gameplay footage. Was on discord at the time - so I may appear crazy having a one sided conversation.

Cute pixel art!

Great gameplay! I love the art and the level design. The goal is clear and the controls are tight, it got me hooked very quickly.

Too good!, keep it up

A solid game! The art style and sounds used in this looked and felt very peaceful like I was actually in the woods. I was soloing this two player game and its definitely a challenge. It took me a few minutes to think of a strategy for the second level, but for the third level it was too much for my solo strats. As I kept doing trial and error the gameplay became a bit too repetitive. But, I'm sure if played with two people this can be immensely fun. Overall nice work on the jam!

Developer

Thanks! thro out testing I also had to play solo so i feel much of your pain.

A cool game with an interesting mechanic doing more damage the closer you get. I could only play it solo but would be a fun game with a friend

Developer

Thanks! and playing it with a friend would test your connection with them, sort of like a second twist to the theme.
