I see I've finally found the game with the cupid that looks like the grandpa from Pawn Stars... and what a pleasant and fun surprise this game was!

What I loved:

  • The two cutscenes where a huge surprise. I haven't seen too many cutscenes in VR and it was fun seeing it here! Even more kudos for not giving me VR Sickness.
  • Flying movement was a bit of a risky choice, but you did it in a way that didn't give me any VR sickness! 
  • I really enjoyed the variety in characters and all of their animations. Each one was moving around independently and it felt pretty alive!

Some Suggestions:

  • It would have been nice to see more complex mechanics besides shoot all the people/aliens. It felt like you were aiming to have more complex gameplay, but maybe time ran short.
  • I think it would have been helpful to have a little more guidance in game to nudge players in the right direction. The guns being on the floor could be easily missed by players who aren't looking around. I say, if it's important to the gameplay, smack the player in the face with it!

It was fun, funny and cute. I really liked this submission. Flying around and gunning people down with heart guns is a vibe for me. Thank you for such a fun entry into this jam!

Thanks very much for the commentary and for playing my 'game'.  So much didn't get switched on, but that's a Game Jam for you.  I'm coming from movies, so getting VR cutscenes more integrated into my games is a main focus, so thank you for recognizing them.

This was a lot of fun.  Great NPCs and yes - I like the skybox.  I was not sure about the scoring but the action and reactions were very good.  I see now from the comments there was a pairing process.  I will definitely retry this.  Great job!

Intro with a climactic atmosphere! The cupid animations were really great. The final dancing scene was hilariously funny. You forgot to add colliders in some places, and the win was a bit of a surprise, but overall it's a cool prototype in the style of Sniper Elite VR meets Pistol Whip ;)

Thanks for playing!  Yeah, without my interactions firing as they were supposed to, I put the game on a timer.  The board was the indicator of the pairs Cupid wanted you to match up, but without him telling you anything, how do we know?  :)  Thanks again for the comments!

Wasn't sure what was happening the first time I tried it - I was flying around, then after a while there was a big dance party! lol

So I read the comments on here and then played it again and saw the guns this time... I think some in game instructions would've helped more. I saw the billboards, but didn't know any love guns were involved the first time around.

Looked nice, and the cupid dude is great - the end party was fun...

Considering I had to copy the game from my laptop to my main PC to make it work and it took ages to copy! I did feel the overall size of the game is too excessive for what it is - it sits at 1.3Gb on disk! Feels like some compression and asset reduction needs to be done in this to make it a more manageable size.

In any case, quite a fun game, nice look & feel - and of course, who doesn't like an after party?!

The opener was supposed to be your briefing, but without recording any VO, my SALSA powered Cupid just sort of sat there.  Originally I was calling this S.W.O.L. (Special Weapons of Love), but left the actual pew pew too late in the game to properly incorporate... frankly, once it was apparent the interactions I wanted to trigger weren't going to work, it was also apparent that all I had was a cutesy shooting gallery... 

The board was my order of operations, you were supposed to match up the pictured pairs, but that's just another of the features that didn't make it to build time.... and the end party was the bare bones of level two, a more on-rails move through the club with the pew pew.  Big ideas, limited time.

In terms of its size, well, I can't say anything about that.  Some of it was lightmaps, some of it was textures, but I was glad I was only half of Itch's upload limit, instead of being stymied by it last time.  20+ monster models, statues, city environment.  Such is the albatross of relying on other people's models and textures, I suppose.  Thanks for playing and for commentary!

Nice game! The cupid has some impressive dance moves. His head does 360 degrees rotation at some point haha 🙈

Thanks for playing!  Yeah, my two primary mechanics were a) camera bullets and b) interactions you could trigger by targeting the right pairs in sequence... Neither of those managed to click, but at least we got a dance party at the end!  I really enjoyed your game, too.  Thanks for the comments!

Cupid doing a little Gungnam style dance at the end LOL. Gotta love those dancing animations. I wish there was a scope on the gun like an actual sniper and maybe limited ammo to see how well you aimed and shot at the people in the city. After a bit I realized I could fly and then I just double gunned everyone down with LOVE. Fun premise just needed an extra mechanic to make it challenging!

Oh, most definitely.  I had a nice sniper scope shader set up, and then realized I didn't need a scope with the level and scale I had set up...  My primary mechanic was supposed to be camera bullets a la Sniper VR, you fire your XR Rig along with the 'Love Bullet'... then you get a fun ragdoll/PM hit in slow-mo... Once I had that in place, the scope seemed redundant... and then I turned off camera bullets and left us with iron sights ADS at best, lol.  Cupid's arrows don't mean much if you don't get to see their effects, right?

The ending/club scene was supposed to be the second level, a sort of John Wick/Cupid shoot'em'up on rails...  So many ideas, so little time.  Thanks for playing and for comments!
