Did you work in a team?
Brandon Parmelee - Game design and art
Scott Kirkland - Music and SFX
Was the resolution a challenge?
Pixel art is kinda my wheelhouse(mostly because it's the only game art I've worked with so far) so the asset creation wasn't that big of a task. But designing a game to look good AND be fun to play at such a small resolution is challenging.
What did you learn?
This both of ours first game jam ever! Not only that, but it's the first game I've ever completed and shared with the world. So there was a plethora of new problems to face that I have yet to experience with my other projects. I now know how to publish games to a marketplace, as well as how much money I'll have to spend to reach other markets with licensing keys haha.

That was a fun game to play! Nice combat and great amount of content. Good job!
If you want, please check out my submission.
Nice game! Very cool art work and I do like a top down style rpg!
I'm amazed by how much content there was considering the time limit. A very enjoyable game, plenty to explore and discover. Combat felt pretty nice as well, especially the boss fights. Well done!
Thank you so much! I kinda went hard on this jam, but it was my first one and I wanted to make sure it was fun! Thanks a ton for playing it!
so many RPGs in this game Jam. It's awesome! Also good to see people teaming up and pulling the talents together. Nice work!
Thanks so much! Doing an RPG definitely made the scope of the project larger than I had anticipated. But it was fun to make!
This was really fun to play! At first I had a bit of a problem with the spike traps, but once I started dodge rolling, those weren't a problem anymore. Well, most of the time :P. I did have some issues with enemies disappearing off screen and then hitting me as I moved to the next room.
Smashing all those skeletons after obtaining the hammer was great, definitely a good addition to the game!
Thank you for playing it! If I had more time I wanted to program the monsters to stay in their rooms(and not go through walls haha)and just polish up their behaviors in general. I also wanted to add death animations, especially to the skeletons, so in a case like the skeleton "boss fight" they would explode into a shower of bones when they died. Plenty of stuff to go through and improve upon once the voting period is over. Thanks again for taking the time to play it!
This game is great! You have a surprisingly balanced and deep action RPG in 2 weeks and 64² pixels. There is room for improvement in the combat, with vague feedback and sometimes oversized hitboxes, and some more SFX would be nice. But for crying out loud, there's skeletons falling into pits! Haha, look at them, they're so stupid!
Thanks so much for playing it! There was so much left to do. I am surprised I got the bulk of the game completed but there is still a lot of balancing and polishing to do. I always appreciate the feedback, and I'll probably go through this project and update it here and there. There were some sound FX that I just didn't have time to implement and balance. And good call on the hit boxes. Once I polish up the combat I'll make them smaller. I just didn't want the combat to be too punishing due to my less-than-perfect programming.
I think some music and some bold sound effects would elevate this game alot.
Thanks I appreciate the feedback! I realized towards the end of the deadline that adding and balancing music was a whole ordeal that takes time. I'll definitely be updating this title, though, over time.
