Simple premise, difficult to 'win'. Really great 3D effect  and 'driving' model...can't fault it!

I hit 95% three times, and then *finally* got 98% on my last attempt!  Never quite got to 100% though. Arrgh!  But this was fun and simple.  It controlled how you would want it to, but it was definitely tricky to get the hang of.

Great gameplay! One of the rare gems in this game jam. It's simple concise, clear, and challenging without being so challenging that you lose interest.

It took me a little longer than I would have liked to learn how to control the mower, but once I got the feel for it I was able to control it quite well and mow most of the lawn within the time constraint.

Excellent use of the jam, a beautiful little nugget of a game.

This is an amazing drift-racing toy that takes up the perfect amount of time each time you play with it. For me, finding the right strat to get my initial ~80% up to 95% was fun, even though I had the pedal to the metal at each incredibly wide turn so I did not improbe in terms of driving skills. This game leaves you room to grow even after the third playthrough. Kudos.

Also, from one punslinger to another, great game name. Which one came first, the idea or the design?

Thanks for playing, and I'm glad you had a good time!

I started playing around with more of a racing game, but my car looked more like a lawn mower, so I just leaned into that. Once I had the grass implemented I knew that was a good call.

The name came last, I was playing around with time limits and the pun seemed too perfect!

Cute!  Sprite stacked mower looks great, grass looks very painterly.

Nice idea… agreeing with other comments, some music and extra SFX would do great things for the game. It has space for growing with hidden things in the grass (stones, trinkets, etc) or levels with different grass patches sizes or distributions… incredible something that simple can be so much fun

Super visually great game! Simplistic but surprisingly fun, I love drifting my mower around in circles seeing what I can get.

I really like the look, and as a pico-8 game its superb!
I feel the sound effects bogged it down though, some fun action packed music and juicier sound effects would've had me in for a while. The slight bloop just felt like a mood killer

Looks great and is a cool challenge, I got to 95% and might keep trying!

This is amazing. Loved the sprite stacked mower model and how fun, simple, and challenging it is. Perfect for LOWREZJAM. The only thing I might consider adding are some small animated grass clippings that fly out from the mower as you cut. Well done!

Simply delightful. Managed 98% :D:D:D

Cool game!

I managed to get 92%, would love to see if someone could actually get 100%

Developer

92 is pretty good! I have got 100% a few times, I spent a while tweaking the controls and mower size to ensure you could reach 100%

This is pushing pico8 to the limits I imagine. I haven't seen too many tops down "3D" sprite stacked stuff I assume. love the aesthetics color and overall design. Great job!

Developer

I was hitting about 80-90% cpu load for pico8. The sprite stacking takes a fair portion, with some simple culling on the grass though things run pretty smoothly.

Really good show of “3D” considering this was on the Pico-8! Good job!

Developer

Thanks!! I am really happy with how the visuals turned out

Would be better with some music, but still have nice Gameplay.

I could not be better than 85%.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I tried making some music, but just wasn't happy with the results. Glad you enjoyed the game though :D

Getting this out of a PICO-8 game is pretty cool!

Developer

Thanks, definitely the best thing I've made in pico8 I think :D

Nice concept and very satisfying game! I got 95% on my second try and couldn't get more than that later. A few more sound effects and some music would be great. However it's still very fun so nicely done!

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! 95 is a great score :D

I agree with Pixel_Trash, so music would made this a 5/5. I only managed to cut 95% but I tried more times than I'm proud to admit it :)

Great job! :D

Developer

95 is a great score! Glad you enjoyed it :D
