Solo-dev. Quite fun!
Was the resolution a challenge?
In a way it was liberating.
Also, I might has cheated a bit on this since
I just scaled down some assets to be of size 64x64,
and apart from that Godot takes care of maintaining the aspect ratio.
Will try to be more strict next time.
What did you learn?
Making non-keyboard based movement work across all platform was rough.
Handling zoom actions and camera movements was specially difficult to get right.
Also trying to create a similar experience for mobile and web, since in those platforms you don´t have a desktop behind your window nor can control the window size.

i liked the concept very much, the music was special as you chosen from an underchosen genre. the inverted mouse controls was a bit tricky at first. i had a some good lols while playing this
Nice and original concept. My only complain is the mouse controls don’t really work that well for this, at least for me… particularly the inverted move (move down to go up, move left to o right…). Tile patterns feel a bit too blurry also, but it’s a nice artistic concept. Globally, a very interesting gameplay. Great job!
That's a mind blowing use of the 64px resolution and gameplay with the zoom mechanic.

A novel idea. The gameplay is short and simple. The mouse movement did feel quite tricky having to drag across the whole map each level but besides from that everything else was fine.
So unique I love it! at one point I couldn't scroll until the next level? I was so far out it was like the screen was actually 64x64 ;') Great idea, would have played more levels!
As with others, my trackball wasn’t the best for input, though (now that I think of it) it seems like continuous rolling of the ball would be a benefit. It didn’t work like that.
A neat idea in using audio ques. I greatly appreciate a different viewpoint on the theme!

I'll definitely need to rethink inputs and controls. Also, from now on I will test against trackball appart from mouse and touch. It seems the ergonomics and behaviours can be very different.

That’s a great thing about Jams - the ability to experiment in a time box. I have no illusion that anyone will play my silly game after the time frame is up, but it was fun to experiment with a couple ideas and see how far I could go with it.
Good game concept! But the controls are absolutely terrible, mouse-only movement is the most uncomfortable thing that I've ever experienced. The music and the concept are good anyways.
I ran out of time to implement alternative controls.
Arrow keys are my immediate priority after the jam voting period is over.

As a early 00's internet user, on my firs try this game reminded me of those jump scare games D:
Jokes aside, what a gorgeous game! I loved the graphic! The only critique I have is the use of the mouse and not the arrows, but maybe is just me! Kudos to you my friend, very good job :D

This may be the first game I've played in the jam that surprised and delighted me with a very different kind of game mechanic. And it works well, so congratulations, good job, well done!
I had a couple of issues controlling it. On my macbook using chrome, a tiny accidental brush of the trackpad with a second finger zooms the game out to the maximum, which results in the game becoming a tiny square in the middle of the screen. Then I couldn't find a way to zoom back in (pinching-out or two-finger scrolling didn't work). Is there a way to zoom in that I missed?
I'm afraid what you describe is a very real bug.
I will address that as soon as the jam is over :)
I didn't create a MacOS native version since I could not test it.
Let me know if you help out with that.
Native desktop version doesn't suffer this issue.

Unfortunately, there are a couple of issues with the mac build. The speed of movement is around 1/3 the speed of the web version which makes it hard to catch the music and zooming doesn't seem to have any effect. I don't think the lack of zooming is a dealbreaker but the speed thing probably is.

I totally get it. Troubleshooting on a platform you don't have can be a nightmare.
Neat game! Using headphones for navigation worked well, and how the zoom worked was very clever and made perfect intuitive sense.
What an awesome concept game!
This feels like a love letter to creation and experimentation, and seems like it was just so much fun to build. The control scheme was a really interesting take, and I audibly exclaimed when you revealed the zoom mechanic (it blew my mind!)

Yeah, the building process was as experimental as the game itself 😁
And the mechanics unfolded as I iterated. It was tons of fun to build indeed.
Pretty strange game, after you get the hang of it, it becomes a lot easier and enjoyable. The music was only on one side of my headphones at a time, so if music was bottom left of me I would just hear it play on the left, so I couldn't tell if it was up or down, because of this a lot of the time I would just run around without actually knowing where to go.

Also took the occasion to add an option to Pause the game using the ESC key.
