It's a very satisfying process to just simply connect, disconnect and rotate these beautiful tiles! It's like magic. Great submission!

Not a nitpicking, more of a bug report: there is some strange blinking the moment a piece detaches from the map. I can only guess that there is a "vignette" sprite on a detached piece that becomes visible a frame too late?

Developer

Oh yes, the magic is in the details! But yes, there is a bug there, which I turned a blind eye to this because of the messiness of the code. When I rewrite it cleanly, the bug will be gone. Thank you!

Beautiful, calming game with no purpose, but just enjoying it ;)

Developer

Thank you, I’m trying!

I like the soothing music and the infinite combinations afforded by the tiles. A great fit for the jam's theme.

Barring a performance limitation, which is quickly reached due to lack of optimization, the gameplay is truly endless :) Thank you!

The game looks amazing, very good job

Developer

Thanks, that’s good to hear! 🙏

Wow! Tiles fit so well, it's a fantastic job. I would be curious to check that code. Btw, water tiles would be nice, sometimes you want an island but it's so hard to keep it an island, it's always grow into bigger land.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Unfortunately, I can’t get islands either :) This needs an edit to the generation of the chunk. Right now it’s very simple, literally 4x4 completely random nodes per chunk.

About the code, it’s messy. Well you know how it is when every time you’re faced with the question - do it right or do it fast to get something done. But I want to write a little post with code examples in Lua of how auto-tiling works here. There isn’t much magic here, but it might be interesting and useful for someone as an example with using Defold.

cool tile editor

Developer

Didn’t even think that to some extent I actually made a tile editor, at least in the auto-tiling part of the code :D

Submitted

in my mind this like a tile editor, with autogenerated tile landscape :D

Lovely looking game :)

Developer

It’s good to hear that it succeeded, I’ve never tried drawing tiles before :D

MMM my loved Carcassone mechanics! Love this entry <3

Developer(+1)

This is the board game I’ve played probably the most times. If even a collection of additions :) Thanks!

A very relaxing game! It felt like I was building my own little island, I especially like the effect of how the tiles connected, it always felt natural and not forced.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Now I think that it really can become a some game. Looks like infinite builders are on trend now :)

Great entry!

I like the sandbox approach with this one, although I typically don't like sandbox games all that much. I think between the mechanics and the music on this one it keeps me entertained! Very neat effect also. Could be nice if there was a zoom out/in also. Also  maybe some sort of picture export mode or save/load feature so you could save your creations and share or view them later.

These suggestions definitely make a difference, since not many tiles fit in the viewport yet. A nice feedback, think to continue this idea of tiling as the next game after current one ) Thanks!
