So much of this is really well done! A good amount of challenge that didn't go as far as being too difficult, was very fun to walk the grandma around. Artstyle is great and I really like the characters of the game. I'm surprised I haven't seen any comments mention the music yet because HELLO?! Very talented musicians on your team. Very good job all of you!
thanks so much, we all worked our butts off!! the music was incredible i agree, we were so impressed with what ryan gave us and it fits the game perfectly and adds so much charm to the overall feeling. i'm glad you enjoyed the art and characters, i wish i could have made more assets!! we're very proud of what we made, i'm glad it shows as a good entry ^_^
So sweet and polished! Great take on the theme too. The games just feels a bit slow and kinda hard to me too. I think if we could let go grandma to go explore a bit, while the timer count twice as fast, it would be more fluid.
Yeah this is just a really good game, fun idea and story line, the art and sound design is great. the biggest issue I have is that exploring for collectables is so damn slow, I spent 2 whole minutes of walking like a zombie looking for a duck. but even than it's really not that big of a deal saying you don't need to take grandma everywhere you go so you won't have to restart due to it but yeah that's really the only complaint I have. Overall a really impressive game.
what a lovely comment!! thank you so much i'm glad you liked it, we all worked really hard. we hear what you mean about the slowness, other people have commented similarly, the general consensus seems to be that the biggest flaw is movement speed, which is understandable and something i didnt really pick up on while we play tested. My partner, who programmed, said it had crossed his mind a few times, but there wasnt quite time to implement everything in the levels to a decently polished degree AND add some kind of movement buff or run button by the end, it's a great idea though, thank you for the great feedback!! ^_^ xox
very good art and sound design! it reminds me of Chain Together in a way and is a nice twist on the frogger aspect (the children level makes it into a bullet hell which i love!), i do feel like making the player move faster when you are not tethered would make if feel a little less slow paced (considering that you are immune to cars) or maybe a sprint button
This game is really awesome. It's cozy, the art style is amazing, the audio is amazing, the level designing is amazing, Grandma had to die once in a while.
Only issue I had, is the character is too slow, maybe just for me but that makes it a bit dull. Beside that, great job!
Ok wow. The intro cutscenes are great, love the art style. The first time I accidentally got grandma killed I genuinely felt bad. Loved the whole experience.
The controls for holding grandma's hand were a little bit touchy - and her collision box seemed a little bit off? And I'd love to be able to skip the intro cutscene after the first time. Otherwise absolutely great game! -Artificer
