Lovely little game. Nice mechanics and well executed. Like many games in the jam, I was not very good at playing it, but I did at least figure it out well enough to begin to make progress :)
honestly I had a blast playing this, and I'm going to be mad if it's not turned into a bigger game haha
Great concept. My only issue is that I found myself accidentally doing certain things, and being unable to undo them, but I'm willing to mark that up to me not being used to the controls.
Took an hour, but I saved 32/32. My personal Game of the Jam by far.
This was a lot of fun to play, really loved the Advance Wars vibe. One thing to note; it didn't seem possible for a unit to not move during its turn (eg. to just shoot/drop/dig from its current position). Other than that, the gameplay felt really solid and the challenge was just right. Would love to see an expanded version with variable setups (different units at disposal) or the ability to call more units in.
Really fun game that I can see myself replaying a lot in the future!
I found the overall experience of this game very enjoyable. It took a while to figure out what buttons I was supposed to use, but I played through about 3 rounds and had a good time.
Amazing! I love this one, the art, the concept, the gameplay. It was great to have the team working together to control the fires and deciding how to tackle them. A complete little experience, perfect for the jam.
Really interesting game, I love the concept! The fire’s movement was very challenging, I’m not sure if I could detect a pattern or not but it was interesting. The art and music were really good as well. Thanks for making this gem. Very limited resources was pretty challenging.
There were some glitches I had to restart the game for i.e. sprites not refreshing after a loss.
Really liked the strategic element of map control as a focus rather than individual unit-vs-unit battles. The pixel art style was quite charming too!
Cool premise for a strategy game,
i like how you went for a sort of "Patlabor" approach where mechas are not only just war machines but also used for other tasks such as construction and in your game's case firefighting.
I like the different capabilities of the 3 units, even if it's a bit hard at first to understand how to properly secure the different cities from the fires spreading each turn.
I had one issue, i couldn't figure out how to refill the water tank of the firehose mecha, i could refill the chopper though, so i don't know what i missed :/
Other than that it's a neat entry :)
Thought the game idea you picked was really easy to learn, difficult to master, therefore rewarding. And the whole thing is super polished. I'm glad there was a Pico 8 entry for the jam!
Awesome gameplay and polish. I used to love Advance Wars back in the day.
Simple and charming. I like the graphics and I think the core premise is well executed.
It reminds me of Into The Breach! ^_^
Nice little fireman game....with mechs. :)
Hi Tyler, I cant get the game play to start correctly in the html 5 view. I can change the menu selections and see the controls, however both PLAY and TUTORIAL just open another menu. Is it just me? The art looks really good.
