The core dashing mechanic is very satisfying and the 'horizon effect' is really neat thing that adds to the scale of mechs. I kept imagining the white blocks as building, so I could totally see this being set in a city-like environment, perhaps with additional destruction. Occationally I got pretty disoriented, in particular when a dash or enemy projectile suddenly turns you 90 degrees, but in the end that did not take away from the fun. A more varied environment would also help with that!
So far this is the most 'Mech'-y feeling game I have played in the jam. Nice!
The feel of the game is so good oh my god. While there isn't a *ton* there, depth wise, oh my god it feels stellar. Seeing more depth to the combat would be amazing, as would some variety in like, enemy encounters and the like, butttt for a game jam project I don't care, it's so cool omg
this is super slick!!! love how the mech feels to pilot, the dashing moves are so cool. the game crashing at the end was disconcerting but that might be a thing on my end. cool stuff!!!
All the movement mechanics are great. super tight and responsive. It's a really good fan game. I like the design of the boss, both mechanically and visually. The intro sets up the mood perfectly. Overall, the presentation is top notch.
I do think its extremely easy as you can just ignore all of the smaller mechs and go straight to the boss and end the game. Also it doesn't seem like there's a way to lose.
It's a really good foundation and would love to see it expanded upon. Great work!
Took me a little bit to get the hang of the movement but really great entry well done. Hitting the mechs felt great, the end went a bit wonky for me after taking down the big mech. A tonne of potential, and only two of you created everything which is very impressive for two weeks work!
Love the dashy movement style. Feels great to close in on enemies with it, really gives the "anime mecha pilot" feel and reminds me of Armored Core For Answer when I try blading in that. Mechs look cool and I like the frosty planet. Seeing enemy mechs go flying coupled with the slap sound when you hit them is satisfying and hilarious.
A little confused on the gameplay though? Doesn't seem like you can really die (I didn't test it but I got hit quite a bit in a playthrough) and there isn't really much point in killing the enemies aside from the giant boss?
Some jank (default placeholder cubes?), mainly with the camera and I'd have liked some ranged options but cool project overall
movement and control feels really good and satisfying
Great job on the movement and the hits are really satisfying.
Love the movement mechanics!
Cool boss! And the whole scene! You just forgot to replace cubes with trees :)
A lot of fun to play, I adore the look of the game too!
Really nice how you telegraph the boss at the start of the game, did take me a moment to figure out how to attack him but it was a fun bossfight. Besides that movement and combat also feel good and are fun.
Camera felt a little bit janky and it would have been cool to see some things e.g. moving obstacles for an extra challenge to get to the Boss.
Great Work
The graphics and player movements are impressive, and I enjoy defeating enemies. However, after a while, it feels a bit repetitive. Adding some objectives could enhance the gameplay experience. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the feedback. Did you end up fighting the boss at the end?
I didn't I was thinking that was like that forever. I will play again to fight against him.
Found Him and kill it.. nice..
Great game, I love how fast paced it is
