I never miss my spanish lesson! This game is obviously not for me!
In all seriousness though, it was really fun to see the characters in a different environment. I found the controls really awkward though, it's hard to move and press F or V at the same time.
I like the concept and it presents itself quite nice, but i have issues with gameplay loop. Can't tell when I'm in range to hit enemies, there's no way to mitigate damage, I just have to tank everything and hope i can get to boss, it just turns into button mashing :L
A fun little romp. I enjoyed crawling around the labyrinth and killing those little monsters.
A few suggestions for improvement:
1. Music would be a fine addition and help with the immersion.
2. It would be better if the player can see which way he is facing from the character sprite. (The computer knows the facing, but the player can't tell just from looking at the sprite.)
3. The attack animation doesn't clearly indicate the zone of damage. For example, if the player is striking out to the left, the attack animation should indicate that.
4. A map would be helpful, of course.
I came into the game with a bad impression, I totally thought this was gonna be a low effort meme game. I was really surprised when I played it, the game is actually really well made. I have a few complaints (melee combat is obsolete after you get the blast) but the game got a few laughs out of me, and was pretty enjoyable to play.
I came here right after my Duolingo lesson :D
This game is pretty fun and I like the idea a lot.
I would improve the controls. It looks like the speed in X and Y axis are independent, which results in approx. 1.4 times higher maximum diagonal speed. (Nothing that couldn't be solved through the power of the goniometry 🤓)
Also, why not map attacks on the left and right buttons on the mouse?
But the art was lovely! Though the walls were a little bit too similar to the floor, as a fellow Duolingo hostage I approve! :D
It's a fun game with a cool concept but the sword upgrade seems to be bugged. I had 50 gems but when I hit the button to upgrade it told me I didn't have enough.
