The game is funny. It's worth working a little on graphics and animations, it will be very interesting to see your game in the future.

Developer

thanks!

I enjoyed using the grappling hook and the NPCs with light dialogue with options works well! And the music ️‍🔥Here's a recording when I played it: 2:19:52

Thanks so much for playing it! It's so cool to see others play our game. The part near the end where you got stuck trying to go up you could just sit on that moving platform and it would bring you to the top. You just need to move to dodge the spikes. It's really good to be able to see others play your game because it teaches a lot about game design makes me realize what aspects were unclear.

Submitted(+1)

I see! My bad, hmm, I think I just expected the spikes to stop the platform.

Developer(+1)

yeah seeing little things like that made me realize the level design was unclear. it often prompted you to think you had to go about things in one way or another but yeah

The music track was spot on, perfectly complementing the game's atmosphere. However, it was slightly overpowering, and an option to adjust the volume would be beneficial. I was particularly fond of the grappling hook mechanics. While it had its quirks, the concept was undeniably fun. Keep it up!

Thanks so much! Glad you liked it:) and yes I wanted to add a settings menu good idea

It took me a while to get to the point of high fun, from this point on the game starts to get really fun! I just think that the item system could be used well right from the beginning when we get them. Very cool game anyway!

Developer

Thank you! By the item system do you mean the combat items or do you mean the health potions? The health potions can be used from the moment you get them and the items we dispersed throughout the map to make it like a metroidvania :)

Submitted(+1)

I meant, items like the sword. For example, after I got it, I only used it a while later, it gives an impression of uselessness, in that sense.

Developer(+1)

ohhh that's super true. Great point. yeah, I wish I had thought more about the design aspects of the game, but I was focused on coding :)

That jumping animation is a bliss :). I actually loved it so much. Well done. I like the fact that you included the github of the project so that more people can learn from it. Very nice of you^^

Developer

Thanks so much! I was pleasantly surprised to find someone do a pull request for it and contribute to it. :)

Ah, finally, some good old funny. I love the sense of humor here; I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't sort of a sucker for even the tiniest bit of silliness. I also really like the way the characters look; they're in a very happy spot between goofy and "edgy" that fit the rest of the game very well.

I don't know that it was always very clear how to progress. At the very least, a map might have been helpful with this. (Although I know that a map was on my to-do for this jam, and I ran out of time, so I get it! Something to keep in mind if planning to expand.)

Overall, this one just really did it for me. Oh, and I was sure to take Nathan's advice and just jam out with him to the music for a bit.

Seriously, make sure your music person knows you love them.

Thanks so much!! I really appreciate this! It seems like you really got the spirit of the game. Unfortunately, I ended up doing a good bit of level design near the end and I'm a terrible level designer, so it ended up a little bit messy. And yes Advertt our music person is awesome! You can check out her work on Spotify if you're interested!
