I enjoyed this one fun setting, story, and nice pixel art
very natural layout of rooms and abilities to make it feel like a metroidvania
I avoided most of the combat though (got ganged up when exiting of some rooms because of this lol)
Took me a second to understand what to do with the 2nd gun ability but felt good figuring it out (I tried using it on the eye walls first)

I didn’t expect to enjoy this nearly as much as I did. This gave me major Legend of Zelda for GameBoy vibes, in the best possible way. I always felt Zelda fits nicely in the Metroidvania family, and this is a good example of why. The focus is on navigation (a huge checkbox for every Metroidvania). There’s a focus on puzzling to unlock new areas instead of traversal mechanics, with is a refreshing twist on gameplay.

Love the sci-fi setting. Love the story of an otherwise normal workplace overrun with danger because somebody didn’t observe basic safety protocols. I can’t wait to put more time into this one.

Thanks for checking it out! I am so glad you enjoyed it. I appreciate the feedback! :)

This is fun, I like the story you weave through it.

Oh, also it was nice to see another top down metroidvania.  Interesting how the perspective changes the mechanics in some creative ways (like no obligatory double jump)

Thanks for checking it out! Yeah I wanted to avoid making a platformer as an additional challenge.

I had some fun with this! Though I got stuck after getting the remote bomb - it was tough to continue due to frustration with the inputs getting stuck. I tried to push through the issues but it was really tough to fight enemies and move consistently, felt like I kept getting stuck moving in one direction. Or, if I stopped to attack an enemy, my character would randomly face a different direction and start moving without my input.

I liked the interconnectedness of the rooms. Getting the engineering key felt super good thanks to how many connections it opened up. I also liked how the EMP gun opened the un-powered doors, that felt cool to figure out. Also the art is great, love the entire game’s aesthetic.

Thanks for playing! It sounds like what you are describing is a weird behavior I noticed when one of my buddies was trying the game the other day. Were you playing the browser version?

I am glad the engineering key felt cool! The original concept of the game had roughly half of the progression being locked behind secret maintenance shafts but it did not totally map to the final product for design reasons. That's why the maintenance areas have their own background music, though.

this is cool! there was a good diversity in the rooms and enemies and i liked the idea of the door opening requiring some time. it felt like a survival horror game which is a cool direction to take a metroidvania. it's very clunky in a lot of ways, some of them i'm sure are intentional like only being able to move one direction at a time, but the hitboxes just don't seem to be where they should be so the combat is something i quickly tried to avoid as much as possible. it was good overall though, the emp being able to open the doors was cool and i really liked dashing through the turret lasers. great job!

Thanks for playing! What you are describing was more or less the desired effect but after some additional play testing I am starting to think I was still a little to conservative with some hitbox/hurtbox sizes. I appreciate the feedback!

This is great, very charming.

Thank you!

Fun, charming game! Everything seemed pretty well done. There's a common bug that causes you to get stuck with effectively sticky keys; played the whole game being unable to stop moving in a direction lol.

Thanks for checking it out!
And yes, I unfortunately found this bug shortly after submitting. It looks like an issue specific to Godot's input event system that can occasionally drop inputs when toggling between full screen and windowed mode in web exports. I have a workaround in place now so other players won't get stuck like this. Honestly, props to you for finishing the game anyways!
