Howdy! Great work on the entry. I can see were the concept is going and i also myself like infinite runner ish games. Really fun but a little difficult to get to the 1000 goal.
Thx for your feedback. They already told me everything about these 1000 points, I did this specifically so that at least someone would reach 1000 (this was done to keep the player in the game)
Great job! It's pretty fun for a while, but I do feel like the water mechanic is very punishing, there we're a lot of impossible scenarios like a cactus right after or before the water making it not possible for me to grab it, but great job anyways!
Also for future games, I'd suggest looking into something called Parallax background, which basically just means each layer of the background moves at a certain pace making it look deeper/3D! Could be cool!
Thank you very much for the feedback and for playing my game!)
Yes, I know what parallax is and if I had a designer I would have done everything completely differently, but I didn’t have time to implement all this, so I made the most primitive runner :)
Great job with the submission!
I think putting the 1000 goal is a bit unrealistic, as nothing changes as you advance. Perhaps having smaller and different levels would help, but I can appreciate how 48h is not enough for a full game :)
It's also quite clear that the background is the one moving, and not the foreground. It would probably make sense to move the floor layer to avoid the feeling that you are stuck in the same X position.
Reminds me of the dino game on google 🦖
Was fun and difficult and I enjoyed the art style.
Main feedback would be just push the controls up when the game starts that you have to click and can double click. Took me awhile to notice 😅
Lots of similarities in our submissions! I don't know if the art is your own or from an asset pack, but it looks very nice.
Not sure if we give feedback but just some general notes since you were kind enough to play my game and leave a nice comment (I'd imagine you're already aware of these yourself)
- 1000 is way too unreasonable for a goal, 100 would be a long but possible endurance challenge
- White text color blends in with the clouds and makes it hard to see sometimes
- Didn't realize I could double jump at first and died 5 times when I reached cactuses too tall to jump, might be a point of frustration where players quit if they don't realize
- Character having a double jump feels unique to this kind of game, maybe you could lean into that more to differentiate this mechanically? (Say, having big obstacle sort of stair shaped so that you have to time both jump carefully)
- Could use some Music and SFX (obviously)
Wow, thank you so much for such a detailed feedback! Unfortunately, I only had a couple of hours to make the game and it is as raw as possible (even without sounds)... It seems like you can still edit the game, right?) If this is the case, then I will add sounds, improve the mechanics to jump more smoothly and it did not seem quite simple, and add eagles that need to be dodged
This was the first game I played so I still had a lot of energy, lol. For only a couple hours you did great
