Cool game and the music at the end is a best reward for completion. Thanks for sharing!
Really enjoyed another one of your creations, keep going like that Bro. Bubu also liked it ;)
The only thing missing is fullscreen. Other than that its awesome
oh you are right! And it’s actually easy to implement 😂😂. I will surely include this in the next version. Thanks for the suggestion.
Really good game!
Thank you!
Interesting game! Pretty similar to mine actually!, There where times i died without moving, and without touching the walls, or running out of health, which confused me alot.
Haha, yes, you can actually die without moving because your life decreases with time also (at a very slow speed). I think I left it at 1.5 minutes or something like that, did a lot of changes to this value to be honest 😅. Glad that you found it interesting.
Really addictive and really nice presented, will definately play this again!
Thanks! So good that you found it addictive! I would like to make some procedural generation in another version to make it more replayable :)
A real gem. The graphics are just beautiful. Simple, but tasteful and very effective. The sound fits the mood just right.
The puzzle gameplay is just the right difficulty and just the right length. It took me 37 tries, but I persisted and got through it!
The quotation at the end was great. I love Rilke.
I'm so glad that you enjoyed it and played thought the end! And that you loved the quote as well. Thanks a lot for your kind comment :)
Great theme, felt polished good job!
Thanks!
Absolutely beautiful. The music gave it great atmosphere. The graphics were simple yet had a distinct style and looked fantastic. And the ending piano and the quote tied everything together. Well done! I very much enjoyed this.
Thanks! I really enjoyed your game too!
Great but stingy on the details of the game!
Interesting gameplay! But it's a little bored to spawn in the map center. Oh, I also like ambient. Good game~
the idea / concept is implemented well with the theme and limitation!
Simple but engaging memory game!
Would also be cool to have a way to warp / teleport to the lit beacons as it can be tedious to always start at the center.
Thanks for playing! How nice that you found it engaging!
I didn't implement a warp because I wanted the far ends to be more difficult than the first beacons, and I thought that may be a nice way to naturally increase difficulty (you hace to retain the path in your memory for a longer time). But I get your point that it may be a little tedious and this difficulty detail may not add a lot to the game.
Thanks for your review!
I'm in love with these art! good job and concept!
Thank you for your kind words! I'm happy that you liked it :)
Along with Flying Flame, this game has the best-looking lighting I've encountered so far. Good job! I also liked the themes of sacrificing your character into the network of light and carrying on despite the deaths.
My character's lighting was glitchy when fading in (causing tiles around the character to have a random brightness) and at the end, I was dead but I also had won and I pressed Z a dozen times until it stopped telling me I was dead and got me to the ending screen. Other than that, it ran smoothly.
About the thing with players being able to see too much if they have their brightness up, I guess you can make every tile (other than the one the player is on) completely invisible until there's a light source nearby. Maybe this can be done with light masks, or maybe you can just set their tint or opacity manually.
Hi Mewore! You are right, maybe I can try using layers to hide the level. Actually I did this in the first iteration (which was very basic and had no lighting) and then tried to solve the whole thing with light and shadows. But I didn't realise that I may use that aproach in this version as well, I will definitely try your idea :D
I'm glad that you liked the theme. Thanks for your great review!
I loved it! Well-defined gameplay and revive mechanics, with clear progression. Little by little unlocking all the beacons through memorization. Very simple and interesting idea! And I also like the message of this game: light always overcomes darkness.
I'm so glad that you liked it! Specially that you think the mechanics and the progression was clear, I had some doubts about this at the end of the development process. But it was an idea I really wanted to try out. And also wanted the game to have a nice message.
Thank you very much for your comment!
It was very hard to see the path when I had the lights on, so I had to lower my brightness. I went up in the beginning, didn't know what to do after I hit 37%, then I realized you can go left and right. Took me 33 tries to beat the game, loved the little quote at the end. Great job on the game!
Hi! It's so nice to see that you played the whole game and reached the end. That makes me happy. Thanks for playing and I'm glad that you liked it!
awesome game! excellent use of minimal lighting , it gives the gameplay a more suspenseful experience, The mechanics is easy to learn and increases in challenge. It has good replay value, overall I enjoyed playing! congratulations! keep it up!
Thank you very much! I'm glad that you liked it.
Fun idea, with neat minimalist graphics. Although you could make the path more distinguishable from the background as it is not clear where to go even with the lights on.
It is also pretty hard and could use some checkpoint system - or maybe it's just my lack of skills :P
Solid game, great job!
Thanks for you comments! I think the problem with this game is that saddly not all monitors are equal. I should have added a brightness calibration or something like that but was out of time :(
I'm glad that despite the inconveniences you liked the game!
I will try yours soon :D There's so much games to try!
No worries, I didn't manage to complete the core gameplay. So there is only a nice graphical experience from me this jam. :)
