Use of the limitation
It is a fight between how much power you want and how much you can handle. You can power up as much as you want, but you need to handle the fallout. There is also a more literal interpretation once the timer runs out.

i couldn’t figure out of it’s actually possible to defeat your shadow, but i could end the game in style thanks to the invincibility you get by holding space

some absolute chonkers of enemies

Developer(+1)

Wow, you went far with those upgrades :D And yes, it's possible to defeat yourself. It's harder if you have a lot of speed

Missed out on sound! Not sure if there was any or maybe an issue on my end. Music/sound really adds a big level of depth to a game and helps with the overall polish. Besides that, you did really well at using the limitation and and the overall gameplay was fun too! I just couldn't really figure out how to hit them bears without taking damage haha. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, sound was something that I really wanted to add and had a plan for, but I ran out of time. I'm pretty happy though with how far I got with my idea (first time jammer). You have a bit of a higher attack range than the bears, so you can hit them, then run/roll away.

oh yeah, for sure, especially for your first time you killed it! Really great job

Fun and short game with nice graphics!

Hey, I played your game on the stream

What gives a different color on a sword strike?

Please give my game a try if you have some time!

Developer

Gave it a try :)

The different colors are honestly just random at the moment. I've been tinting the sprite to check that I apply the damage on the correct animation frame. It looked cool and since the theme is color, I kept it. Another idea was to have different elements with the colors, but that didn't make it in.

I really like how you tie the player getting stronger with spawning enemies.

I really liked it! Just when it ended I understood I killed myself haha

Interesting take on the concept, but maybe rolling should make you move faster

Really interesting game, would've loved a more convential control scheme

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! What would you consider as a more conventional control scheme for this? wsad + mouse, something else?

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

Well i'm not sure the correct term but I have a small keyboard I have no arrow keys so the ability to use mouse to attack and wasd to move would have been nice.

Animations look great - really loved the little cut-scene at the start where he's getting juiced up to fight some enemies! Got certified wrecked by my shadow self.

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed it :)

I once press [Y] so quickly to get a bunch of strength, but the enemies summoned also get harder, quite a challenge🤣

Wow.

Fantastic art, fantastic game, fantastic literally everything!

Though it could have some sounds.

Amazing!, the camera scroll, the enemy AI, the animations, what an eye candy! The only thing that I think is that the keys to play the game are a little too separated, but aside from that, it's great!
