Nice animation you have going on! Maybe you could increase the jump height and the slide duration? Overall, I think the game's pretty neat.

It looked gorgeous and was very nice

Very nice graphics and music!

Some feedback on the gameplay: there were instances where the monster was very close behind me but couldn't reach me, but then would catch me even if I did the next obstacle right (I saw the wall get destroyed so I think it was right). Maybe there is a slight unintended slow down during the obstacle animations, or maybe it is intended that the player slows down on each obstacle, but it felt a little unfair to lose even though the input was correct and on time.

Other than that, it's a fun game. Well done!

Also, just noticed that you can press shift + d at the same time to deal with both obstacles (the floating tree and the wall). :)

Thanks for the feedback. The wall break animation also gets played when you miss the timing, cause I thought it looked better than simply removing the object from the scene. You don't get a slow down when you do the obstacle correctly. If you were at a rather high score though it could be that the enemy's speed wasn't quite zero but just really low when the character got to the next obstacle. Whatever it was, would have probably been better if we made a different animation for when the player misses the timing on a wall.

Hey! I tried to reproduce what I meant on my last comment.

The gif is the same loop twice, where the second loop is slowed down at the end. The last tree is cleared (it doesn't disappear) but I still get eaten.

You are right, I think it's more that the monster is still gaining distance on the player by the time they reach the next obstacle (it was just not that noticeable, I thought I was out of danger).
I don't really play this type of games much, so I don't know if that is intended, but it did feel a little unfair that I still got eaten even after clearing the last obstacle.
My suggestion would be to get the monster to reach its final distance from the player before they get to the next obstacle.
Also, maybe add a stumble animation to the bear when hitting something to make it more believable that it is the bear slowing down and not the enemy just moving to the right.

Anyway, nice job! It's one of my favorites from this jam.

Art styles was great. I enjoyed your game. This game was like Subway surfers or temple run but in 2d and in different concept. It was little hard for me to slide and jump, it would have been easy if you increased jump height. Anyway, good piece of art 🎨👍

As the others said already, visuals are great and overall its very polished. Great work

This looks great! Really liked the graphics and the contrast between the monster and the main character.

In terms of gameplay the game is simple but well realized, although the jump timings seemed difficult to me :)

Very nicely put together game and that creature is creepy as hell.
