Loving the details in your game!

  • Engaging menu? Absolutely.
  • Captivating music? Definitely.
  • Cool art? Without a doubt.
  • Smooth background parallax? Spot on.

Fantastic job on this jam game! Keep it up! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Fun experience!

Something to add... Maybe the camera is a bit too far away from the characters.

Also, the artstyle is a bit inconsistent, since the characters are pixelart and the background is vectorized.

Good job for your second game! The atmosphere feels good, game loop is simple  but fun.

One thing I would change, right now your are locked into waiting at the bed and cant leave before your meters are refilled. Let the player leave the bed early. This way the player could leave his position when a pumpkin is about to explode

Developer

yeah and I could add less sleep meter when leaving early. Thanks for your idea.๐Ÿ”ฅ

I really enjoyed it. Some feedback is that you should be mroe consistent with the art. If you make a very detailed character it often looks weird when the character is standing on a solid color tile. Something that wouldn't be as hard to implement could be jump buffering. I liked it and it's a solid game for being your second.

Thank you for playing! I will focus on your feedback next time.

This is pretty good for your second game! I was using Godot too when I first started publishing games on itch. One of my Godot games also failed to show visual effects in the browser version. I wonder what causes that. But I didn't get a very satisfying kill animation for the pumpkins on either version. The explosion looks quite nice so it's jarring to see them just disappear when killing them with the sword instead. I suggest adding at least a particle. I also recommend using sprites with a more consistent art style and resolution on your future projects.

I thought that the mechanic of sleeping to regain health and energy to swing your sword was creative and ties into the nightmare theme of the jam quite well.

Thank you for playing my game. I was making death animation for enemies too but when I made that the player would take damage for no reason even though I disabled area and collision of enemy. Instead of that bug i removed that feature. But for my next game I would be adding more effects and making it more interesting. This is journey of progress, i hope we all succeed. I hope you enjoyed my game ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ’ค

Really nice looking game and good SFX although maybe some are little loud.
